  • I don't know what to do with my horse?

I got M as a pold along cob who then began kicking&bucking and being silly both on the ground and riding. we moved yards and I was too afraid to go in his stable with him. Someone rode him for us, and slowly I built my confidence back up on him. Then he started racing up to jumps and bucking&having mad moments he still kicked and bit. I got another pony to help with my confidence, and he really did, I did things I never dreamed of doing on him&we part loaned M out. I should of stuck with it, but it didn't work out.

I regained my confidence on him&started hacking out&galloping on him again. Then he began to get spooky and started bucking a lot more, we had his back checked right at the start, so it wasn't that. We then took him to field farm, which we booked when I was confident on him, and he was spooking, getting very excited, kicking&biting a lot more. I know horses can get exciting in new places ect but after a week he was still like this and the other horses were fine.

I've started showing him who's boss, but I still don't feel confident on him, and after owning him for two years he's knocked my confidence so many times but it's been a great learning curve for me. I love him dearly but I need a horse that will give me the confidence and experience in competitions ect and I've grown out of J.I don't know weather I should loan him to someone who has the experience for a couple of years gain the confidence and be able to do it all on him when he's back or sell him.

  • Paired hunter trails?

So me and a friend are looking at doing some paired hunter trails, but we're not exactly sure what this involves?

What you wear, and how the scoring works? And how big are the jumps?

I've seen it a couple of times, and you follow your partner around the course. That's about all I know :').

    Thank you :)

  • Can an estate pull a trailer?

    Hi,

So we have a passat estate, 2litre, basically I was just wondering if this was capable pulling a trailer, with either one or two horses?

How safe is that, and how much strain would it put on the engine?

I don't want to have to buy another car, but if its the only option I will have to.

    Thank you:)

  • Galloping? Hacking? Help ?

So me and a friend go out hacking every Sunday to give our horses a break from the school, recently we've discovered a long stretch of grass, perfect for galloping, we galloped last weekend, and if the weathers nice, would like to do t again this weekend, but I do know that galloping does put strain on the legs, if you gallop often. Is galloping once a week classed as often, as its so much fun, but I want to put the horses safety first, especially because their both mine :/

  • Horse licking the wall?

After I've given my horse treats, feed or a lick, he starts licking the wall (stone) or sometimes the door (wood). He then stands there and curls his tongue in half and makes a weird sound like he's sucking or grinding his teeth.

I'm not sure why he does this?

    Please help thanks :)

  • URGENT! I really need help with sweet itch!?

My pony has terrible sweet itch, he has itched the top of his tail off so it's just skin, and patches of his mane are missing. I'm going to loan him, and I don't think anyone would want him in his current state, so for his comfort and the loaning issue, does anyone know any good treatments for sweet itch, or anything that can make hair grow back? I've tried lots of things, some worked a bit, but none stopped him itching, the vet is not an option as I do not have the money :( but I need help ASAP as it gets worse everyday. Thank you!

  • Bit less riding? Please help?

So I've heard of bitless riding, and I want to try it out. Someone mentioned it was a good trust exercise, or just simply if your horse had sensitive teeth or something, mine doesn't though. I ride around in a head collar sometimes, but a bitless bridle might give me more control?

I just wanted to know the ups and downs really from bitless riding and what you can get out of it, also is it safe?

    Thank you

  • Why is my blackberry not charging?

So I've played my phone in with a normal charger and its not working, I've tried 2 different chargers both for blackberrys and taken the battery out a few times. Before I charged it it was completely dead, and then about 12 hours later I plugged it in, it's been charging for about an hour now and shows no sign of life? The red light that usually comes on hasn't either.

    Any reason why?

    Thanks

  • Tricks to teach my horse?!?

So as its really hot I can't do much riding wise, so I would like to try and teach my horse some tricks, like sitting, lying down, at the moment he will open the stable door when I knock, come when I whistle, back up when I click. And sweep up with a brush, but I've seen horses sitting, lying down and shacking hand and stuff on command, and I was wondering if anyone knew how you do this or any other fun tricks I could do?!

    Thanks

  • Urgent Help with sweet itch horse feeds!?

Okay so I've fed my horse loads of different feeds, happy hoof, different types of chaff ect, but my horse has sweet itch quite badly, so I need a feed to mix up ll his garlic and other sweet itch supplements, I have given up on the feed I was using as he is already full of energy, and it was just giving him more, so I need a feed that's, low in energy, in the lower price range and doesn't make him gain weight.

I have no clue if this is true or not but someone told me you can get sweet itch feed or something?

Also does anyone know any other way to help sweet itch, or any shampoos to help them stop itching as he has itched off his main, and his tail awful! I already know about garlic power in feed, marmite sandwiches, keep his fly rug on at night, and I use strong fly spray, I have those naff off things in his stable, and use something called ITCH GONE LOTION, does anyone know if this works, as I have not seen any change with his itching, I know I'm asking alot, but I will be very appreciative with any answer ! Thank you!!
