Question for Wiccans, how do herbs used in spells work?

I understand energy and I am able to raise it/manipulated it on my own, however I don't understand how the herbs used in spells manipulate energy. Can someone explain?

I have a project for my french class to translate a song about new orleans from english to french in preparation for mardi gras. The song I'm doing is "when a cajun man gets the blues" by Tab Benoit. My friend and I got into an argument about this. He thinks I would get charged with federal treason, but I think the only charges that I could face is theft, destruction of federal property, and illegal possession and use of marijuana. Idk, the Declaration of Independence is not a venerated object so I don't know why I would be charged with anything else.

I need it to be durable (I will need to drive from Virginia to Colorado for a summer job). I don't want to pay too much but I also want it to be good quality, so what price should I look for?

I don't have a life line or fate line, only head and heart. What does that mean?

My sister (she's 14 years old) has ocd/anxiety and has started taking meds for it in the past few months. As a result of the meds she has been acting very impulsive and every now and then she seems to loose control of her reasoning. Honestly, when this happens she acts like she's high on something like crack. It's starting to scare me a bit. This normally happens when she is around me because she feels like she can be more open around me. What should I do.

I've been reading all new x factor and I was just wondering why Remy has such little trust for the Avengers. Or is it just that he doesn't trust Pietro? If so, why does he see it as such a huge issue if Pietro told the Avengers what was going on at Serval Industries?

I've been feeling as though there is a serious disconnect between me and my surroundings lately. I will get into moods where everything around me, including people, will seem very irrelevant and I will internally separate my consciousness from them. Whenever I'm in these mood people think I'm intoxicated and honestly it feels very similar to how I've felt when high. I've had mood swings like this all my life, but it's getting more frequent; I've been getting these almost every day.

I'm interested in getting involved in Wicca. I was raised Catholic and although I have rejected that religion, I still believe strongly in God. Because God does not have a gender, could God be seen the same as the Goddess? Again, I don't want to fully reject my beliefs about God and the trinity, so could I see the Goddess as being a different perception of the same universal deity?

I'm speaking German to them around the house while my wife is speaking English. One is four and the other is two, so the four year old can talk in both English and German. Her English is great, because she hears it most often when talking to people outside the house. Her German is broken, because she only hears it from me so she gets less practice. She can understand me well and she has the vocabulary, but her syntax is horrible. German immersion schools are hard to come by, so how do I help her?

I've always heard that the best way to learn a language is by simply being exposed. Does this actually work? For instance, if I were to spend free time listening to Russian radio despite having no prior knowledge of the language, would I eventually learn at least bits of the language?
