I was at a breakfast bar at the Ibis Hotel in Paris, France, which had an assortment of sliced bread. This one particular type tasted exactly like a croissant, but I never knew what it was called. I doubt it is semolina... tastes different. Is there a pastry or bread master that can shed some light on this?

I just recorded the wimbledon coverage on my dvd/vcr-recorder onto a blank dvd-r.

It recorded fine the first time and could play back. no problem. Then I recorded the next match on a new blank dvd-r, and it showed it recording. Nothing different. The counter was going as it continued recording and i stopped it after the match.

Then I tried to finalize the disc but the disc showed that I had not recorded ANYTHING!! I couldn't finalize the disc because it said nothing had been recorded. That's so weird! The red-record light was on while i was recording.

I tried putting the dvd into my apple laptop but it just spits it back out. Is there a way to recover recorded data on these discs?

I just wanted to see what people think when they read articles like this. Let me know if you are a meat eater or vegetarian. Basically, back when I used to eat meat, I'd just read these articles and be unphased. But I read these as I got older, and read them multiple times. At first it just sounded like hooplah, but after a while, and thinking about WHY and HOW these people came about teaching people to not eat meat... I realized it. I got that, "omg! ohhhhh... i get it now... no wonder..."

So I thought I'd share a few articles. I've been a vegetarian since 1995 and now it's a part of my life and way of life. My mind has been clearer and more peaceful than my meat-past. Totally different nature inside.

Falun Dafa sounds like an abrupt spawn of utter nonsense.

I really do not understand their purpose or even need. They take snippits from Proper views and Ways and combine them into some cultist practice that no longer even adheres to certified practices or Ways to enlightenment and Bodhi. It's like taking apart a perfectly good set of luxury cars, and stripping a door from the Benz, the dash of a Lexus, the wheels of another, etc, and making one insanely hideous contraption.

They turn the PROPER WAY into some twisted nonsense. You already have the Proper, certified Way to Enlightenment from someone as meritorious and vigorous as Buddha. Yet.. some DUDE comes up and twists it around to make Falun Gong? no need!

From what I see, it's just some guy that wanted to be as famous & meritorious as Buddha, but Buddha's already there and the PROPER DHARMA already stands strong. And so this guy borrows pieces and makes his own stuff up to be the big shot teacher. It's seriously unnecessary.

In Buddhism, World Honored Future Buddha Maitreya is also respected and revered. But I once encountered a Tibetan Buddhist that said they focus exclusively to Maitreya. And I wondered, why do they focus on a long-stretched future (end of this world) instead of focusing on the cultivation to Bodhi at the present with the Buddha Shakyamuni that's ALREADY the Buddha/Fundamental Teacher of this world? i guess I just found it strange.
