  • Are My Canary's Eggs Fertile?

I candled them when they were a week along and each one had a small brown dot in the middle of the yolk, are they fertile? I thought with an incubation time of 13 days, they would be farther along than that. What should I do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • When should I put the male canary in the same room with the female?

I've read that you need to introduce the male and female slowly. In the same room for a few weeks, then side by side(but so they can't see eachother) and then you let them see eachother, but not in the same cage yet. I find it rather confusing. So can someone give me a definite schedule as to when I need to start getting them ready for the breeding season?

Also, I have only 1 male and 3 females. Can I put the male in the same room with all 3 hens and then just choose a hen and place her in with him? Or won't that work? I'm new to this, I'm hoping all you wonderful people can help me with my questions;)
