  • Rehoming my horse? Help please.?

Long story short, I am going to be taking on a young horse to start training with. I know the owner personally I have two other horses and we just don't have the pasture to keep 3. So my plan was to put my 18 year old mare at her house and bring her gelding to my house. My question is, is it possible my horse will be upset about being moved? It's only temporary, but I'm concerned.

  • Delaying my period with birth control?

The birth control I'm on has different color pills. I am going on vacation this week, and didn't want to deal with my period. So I threw away my sugar pills and immediately started a new pack of pills. My pill pack says if you miss any of the 7 days of "inactive" pills, throw the pack away and start a new pack. Am I still protected against pregnancy from starting a new pack of pills right after the 3 week of my last pack?

  • How much should I charge to train a horse?

A very close family friend needs help in putting her 8 year old gelding back to work. She is unsure on how to train him so she asked me to do it and would pay me for my time and work that goes into him. I have my own horses that are in training, so my plan is to work with my horses 3 days a week and her gelding 3 days a week. It's about a 30 minute drive from my barn to hers. How much should I charge her to train her green broke gelding?

  • What size barrel saddle do I need?

I know that the seats for barrel saddles tend to run smaller. I usually fit a 15.5 to a 16 in regular saddles. So what size will I need for barrel saddles? Is there any way to determine that?

  • My boyfriend didn't like his gift?

My boyfriend didn't particulary like the bracelet I got him from when I was on my cruise. It's a sterling silver bracelet, thin, and plain as could be. I loved it and thought he would like it, but I can tell he doesn't. He was very nice about it, but it's pretty obvious he's not going to wear it because he feels like it's too feminine. Have any of you made the mistake of buying your boyfriend or husband a gift he didn't like?

  • How to soften a hard mouthed horse?

I have a 17 year old mare that is very hard mouthed. I have tried a lot of bits, none of which were twisted wires or any of that crap, but a lot of different snaffles and nothing has worked. I know part of the problem is me, because I get flustered when she doesn't listen and then end up being in her mouth a lot. Can someone give me some input on training I should do with her to make her better and myself a better rider?

  • Can a mechanical hackamore be repaired?

I found my mom's old mechanical hackamore in the garage and want to put it use on one of my mares. The only problem is that the rubber that covers the bike chain is so old that it has started to peel and fall off, exposing the bike chain. Is there anything I can buy to wrap the bike chain with and just peel the rest of that crappy rubber off??

  • Horse's right shoulder is sunken in?

You don't notice it until you feel it on her shoulder. The right shoulder is sunken in slightly, while the left shoulder is nice and flat. I don't think that it is causing her any discomfort because she canters fine in the pasture, but it just worries me at what it could be. Could it be from getting kicked?
