  • Why do my car radio presets move?

I have a Chevy Cavalier with whatever the original stereo is that came with it. For over a year now, I've had the weirdest problem: All my preset radio stations MOVE. It doesn't forget my preset stations - all the same stations are there - they just randomly move to different buttons. Like a station that was #1 will now be on #5.

What would cause this? And is there anything I can do to fix it?

  • Is pressure-treated lumber supposed to feel wet?

I just bought lumber for building the walls in my basement finishing project. The regular lumber is fine, but the pressure-treated lumber I am using for the bottom plates (against the concrete floor) fell wet. Is this normal? Does it need to dry before I use it?

  • What kind of nails should be used for pressure-treated lumber in basement walls?

I've been told everywhere that when building walls in my basement the bottom plates (because they are touching concrete) must be pressure-treated lumber. I'm using regular 16d coated sinkers for the rest of the framing, but all the framing nails I look at say not for use in pressure-treated lumber. What do I use to attach the bottom end of the studs to the bottom plate?

  • How do I remove bottom panel inside gas oven to get to the igniter??!?

My Frigidaire oven (#GLGF366ASA) died, and I figured out it's just the igniter. Everywhere I look tells me this is an easy do-it-yourself fix - just remove the bottom panel inside the oven to get to the ignitor and switch it out.

BUT, I can't get the bottom panel out! There were two screws in the back, and I removed those. But the front catches on something, and so I can't get it out. Do I have to disassemble this entire oven just to get that bottom panel out? Please Help ASAP!!!

  • Selling dead laptop for parts - any parts I should NOT sell for security/personal info reasons?

My laptop is dead - the motherboard apparently - and I'm better off just buying a new one rather than paying almost the same amount to have this one fixed. So I'm planning on just selling this broken one for spare parts and such to recoup a small part of my losses.

Aside from the hard drive, which I am keeping, are there any other parts I should NOT sell/include that may have personal info or files on it? For example, do the internal memory sticks, etc, keep any info on them I wouldn't want to share?

  • Help identifying my Fender guitar and its worth?

I'm selling off a bunch of stuff, including an electric guitar, but I don't know much about guitars and don't know what to ask for it. For all I know, it's the cheapest guitar ever made, or it could be a priceless one-of-kind (though I assume not).

It says it's a "Fender Bullet Deluxe" and has a serial number on the top of it, and there's a star with a "1" on it behind that logo. The guitar is red and white, with a "volume" knob, "tone" knob, a jack for connecting to the amp, and a 3-position switch. It's in very good condition, with only normal usage wear, and no damage. In original case.

Can anybody give me any insight into this? (And where I'm best off selling it - ebay, guitar stores....?)

  • Why would I need a bigger hard drive (80 vs 40) for my PS3?

I am planning on getting a PS3, but considering I don't care about PS2 game compatibility, I don't see why I woud want to more expensive 80-gig version. Will I be missing out on anything? Why do I need more hard drive space? What's the disadvantage to the cheaper one?

  • How do I stop my DVD remote control from also turning on/off and affecting laserdisc player?

I have a new Pioneer DVD player, but I also still have a Pioneer Laserdisc player, because some of the stuff I have on LD is not available on DVD. But whenever I use my remote control for my DVD player, it also tries to work on the LD player. So when I'm watching a movie on DVD, anything I do (power, play, skip, etc) also affects LD player, which I want to leave off at that time. Is there a way to make it NOT recognize the remote?

  • What consistency should my DryLok Waterproofing Sealant be?

I bought a gallon can of waterproofer, and when I open it, it's like a can of liquid, with a giant glob of thick batter in the middle. I've stirred and stirred as directed, and it's still pretty much the same consistency - liquid with a giant glob of batter in the middle. Am I supposed to be able to get this to a fully mixed state? How thick is it supposed to be when I paint it on? I can't get it to mix. Help!

  • Couch Potato needs Diet/Exercise program to get in shape! (NOT weight loss)?

Okay, so I'm not fat by any means, I'm thin-to-medium. So I don't need to lose weight. But I AM a lazy slug and a couch potato who eats far too much junk.

I would like to finally get my butt in shape. Anyone know where I can find a simple, easy-to-understand, yet specific program to improve my health and conditioning (and maybe even tone up my body some)?

***I'm the kind of person who needs structure, so I'm looking for something that will tell me exactly what exercises to do, how often, at what points I should be increasing those exercises, etc.***

  • What's on the cassette tape in "Escape From New York"?

Maybe I just missed something, but I didn't catch it. Just "something" that the President has to present at a conference that will create world peace? What could it have on it that was so important?

  • How do I know when it's time to put my dog to sleep?

I hate even asking this. I have a 12-yr old Brittany that I love so much. In the past year or so she has completely lost her eyesight, I can feel small tumors or growths on her leg and chest, and she is constantly thirsty (meaning she is constantly needing to go to the bathroom). She has no energy or happiness anymore, mostly just lying in her bed all day except to eat or to go to the bathroom outside.

We try to keep things constant since she's blind and only knows her way around by memory, but with a 1-yr old baby in the house, she's constantly tripping on toys and such. She just doesn't seem happy at all anymore, and with her health in decline, I don't know if it would be better to let her go, or let her live on unhappy and just spending all day lying in her bed.

I want to know I'm doing it in HER best interests and not just for my own convenience. How do I know when it's time?!?

  • Where can I try out shooting a gun if I don't own one of my own or have any experience?

It's something my wife and I have always wanted to experience, but we don't own any guns (and we don't plan to). Training classes? Firing ranges? Do you need memberships? What kinds of guns can we try? Would we have to obtain any permits or registrations? (again, we dont plan to own any, just want to try it out)
