It's an example of how to do the work.

Ex.: In a proportional situation, if for 6 hours of work you receive $48, then:

-for 18 hours of work, you will receive:$144

( 48 = 48x3=144)

---- = -------- --- (<<<<these are fractions!)

(6 = 6x3 = 18)

BUT! On the side, the chart says:

Duration x 8 = $ SO, why does it say x3 at the top but x8 on the chart??
