  • What is the NEW proceedure at the airport?

I have to take a trip to Florida from NYC in the next 4 days or so to attend my brother's funeral. I have not been in an airport or flown on a plane in 33yrs!!!! Seriously, I don't know what to expect or to do. I know that I can get a bereavement fare but what then? I am taking one small bag (carry on) and my purse. What can I pack and what will they make me leave? I also need to take 4 Rx's everyday and will be taking them with me. Please help me with intelligent answers after you have read the question.

    Thanks

  • Buying a new car for a family member what am I responsible for?

My son has a license and an excellent driving record. He just started a new job after being unemployed for 18months. I am buying this car (cash money in full) so he will have transportation when he needs it for his new job which is located in various out of the way places ( with the DOT). What am I responsible for as far as the car goes?

He will be carrying the insurance himself.

What should I expect when I get to the dealer?

He also has a cdl and is in his early 30's.

  • My small mixed breed llapso/terrier has a small pus filled lump on her chest area?

I plan to take her to the vet as soon as possible. Would anyone have any idea what this could possibly be? She also has a red rash on her lower groin region. She is about 6 Yrs old and I have had her about a year now. She does not seem to be in any pain and is still very playful and content. The groomer noticed these things at her last appointment.

  • 1990 Ford Econoline 150 --No guages working in panel?

I was given an 1990 Econoline 150 Van I can't tell what speed I am driving at or if the gas tank is full or near empty, or the actual miles that have been driven as the odometer does not move either. Would this be a fuse? or something very costly?

Have not had a diagnostic yet, am waiting for transmission to be rebuilt in a few days. Will that correct this problem?

    Thanks

  • Help!! The car reeks of cat piss and you can smell it 6ft away?

My sweet little neighbor left her car door ajar and I guess a couple of cats got in and "did their thing" and now it reeks!! She had not driven her car for a good three weeks because she was getting over the flu. When she went to her car, and noticed the door open she just pushed it close. Now the car has been sitting in the hot garage all that time with the smell just fermenting and when she finally opened the door...WHEW!! You can smell it from across the street, it is that bad. Does anyone have any suggestions (low cost and effective, we are not millionaires here) on how to get this smell out so that she can at least drive this car and not carry the smell on her clothes and shoes when she leaves the car. The car is a big ol van with upholstery and carpeting on the walls and such (go granny). I have volunteered to help clean it. Me and my big mouth!! So what do I do?

    Thanks

  • What should I be wary of when purchasing a used car from a private seller?

I find that I must buy a car and I have been looking on craigslist. I have come across a few prospects but I don't know what to ask, I do know that I have to take the car to a mechanic and test drive it for a while to determine if something is pinging or knocking and if it pulls to one side. What will the mechanic do besides run a diagnostic?

Is there anywhere on line that I can go to find out these things?

    Thanks

  • Remember when the average person didn't know what a transmission was?

and now all you hear about when buying a used car is that it has "slight tranny problems" or that the tranny was replaced.

Why are manufactures making cars with these wimpy trannys?

  • Married Women!! Have you had an emotional affair that caused you to wax poetically?

This strange poem appeared in my mailbox. I do believe it was intended for my husband. I found it quite amusing and a little distrubing. No, I did not give it to my husband.

    Any thoughts?

  • IS HE GAY/BI or just very fastidious about his appearence?

O.K. people I don't know what to tell my co worker about this one. Her new man ala the internet, talks a good game, and is very attentive when he is around but when I met him I got a vibe of he is not really into women. He wears two earrings, he is very prissy about his attire, he has a freaky nature that she tells me about and it blows my twisted little mind. He watches the fashion channel instead of the game and he has inquired as to her experience (if any) with women or two men. He always says the right thing but he does go missing from Thurs to Sunday night. With the explanation of he was working. He runs a business out of his home (that she has never been to) and he is into Transic (gay club) music. He was carrying a bag when she first met him for goodness sake!! He is in a relationship of nine years with the mother of his seven year old child, but no marriage.

Help me give her some insight. I am totally lost on this one

  • Bad Credit-No Credit- Everybody Drives... how much am I going to be in for if I purchase a car from them?

I want a new car, but I really need a dependable automobile that is in the van category. I have seen these ads and I was wondering if they really put you in a new car, and if they do, at what cost to the consumer. I have a 2001 van to trade in but it is not in the best shape. No accidents just wear and tear.

    Thanks

  • Co-worker has a judgment against her, can they take her security deposit?

She tells me that she is in the process of having her salary attached by the marshals and they have even told her that her apt security deposit is going to be taken. I don't know about these things (thank God) so I am asking the biggest audience that I have access to. What if anything can they do to her? She lives in NYC area. She says it is an old Fingerhut Account that she disputed back in 2004. I told her the account might be too old to collect on, but I can't be sure.

Yes, it is a co-worker, I don't have any old bills, except Ma Bell.

    Peace

  • 2001 Mazda mpv and it is making a roaring sound?

It sounds like a race car and this happens when the speedometer nears 50mpg. What could it be. Hipotheically of course. I was told by a non tech that it could be the transmission. I was also told by another non tech that it probably needed a tune up. 70K miles on it. Oil and filters changed regularly.

  • I found evidence of someone sleeping in my new apt, when I went to leave the mattress.?

We had been there earlier today to clean and wash windows, etc. I locked all of the windows and the door before I left. Late tonight I was given a new bed by a friend and deceided to take it to the apt since I don't have any space at my current place, due to all of the packing. The window was opened and the bedroom door was locked from the inside, and I did not lock it. When the police came they showed me how the person(s) got in. It seems that whoever, had put a washing machine under the window and climbed in. I called the landlord and he came over. My question is should I move here and if I do what if anything should I demand from the landlord in order to feel safe. I am really shaken, although I think it might have just been a kid, but then there were marks on the wall as if made by a razor. And this was done after the apt had been painted.

I am still a little rattled.

  • What is the employment situation in the south?

I would like to move my family to a warmer climate. I know that I can get a job, but I am concerned about my two teens. What is out there for them? We are true New Yorkers. I was born in a small town in Alabama, and spent nearly every summer there and in northern Florida until I graduated from HS. I have visited relatives in the Carolina's and Florida, but that was back in the late 80's and 90's. I know that Georgia was thee place to be, but I was told that it has cooled off considerably. Help!
