  • How do I get rid if old house smell?

I am moving into an old house (I love the house, but it is old and needs some tlc) and would like a natural way to remove the musty old house smell. Any ideas? I will be buying a dehumidifier for the basement, treating with baking soda, and airing the entire house out as soon as it warms up, but I am open to other ideas if anyone has any! Thanks for your help!

  • Painting old metal kitchen cabinets?

I am moving into a home in a few weeks. I will be renting, but owner is a friend and is okay with me painting inside the home. The house was built in the 1940s and still has the original metal kitchen cabinets. I love the vintage look, but there is a little rust and the white paint is yellowing, so I would like to paint them. Anyone know of an easy, inexpensive way to do this, preferably without removing the cabinets from the walls? I have heard of using appliance paint, but I am unsure of how to go about preparing the cabinets for painting. Thanks for your help!
