  • Garnishment disclosure but never got a notice?

I live in Michigan and had my state tax refund intercepted. I was never served with any court papers but I got a garnishment disclosure from the department of treasury. I had some old debts from 2001 but the SOL on those has long since passed. What should I do?

  • Should Christians pray for Satan?

Is it possible that Satan could repent and be saved? If so, should we pray for him? If Satan repented wouldn't that take away all the evil in the world?

  • Tax intercept question?

I had both my state and federal tax refunds intercepted to pay back child support I owed in Michigan. The entire state amount was applied correctly but my federal refund was over $800 and they only applied a little over $600 to my child support debt. That pretty much caught me up but what happened to the missing amount? Will it be refunded to me? Also, how long will it take them to reduce my weekly payments back to the original amount? They've been taking extra to so that I could get caught up ever since I went back to work. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • What is causing this kind of pain?

I have a combination of pain and numbness in my hands, feet, and elbows. It's not in the joints, it feels more like it's in my skin or bones. As an example, the back of my hand will experience severe pain if I even lightly rub it from the wrist towards my finger tips and it will stop hurting if I rub it in the reverse direction. The same thing happens with my fingers and toes. My toes are almost always numb but occasionally I'll get a shooting pain in them. All of this stuff started last year when I was out of work and put on a ton of weight. Since I had no insurance, seeing a doctor was not an option.

I've looked at all those sites on the internet that ask for your symptoms but nothing really matches.

  • Giving a big gift (Money) and the taxes.?

Let's say I won a multimillion dollar lottery and I wanted to give a million to my brother. This would be out of the money after I paid taxes on it. I know I'd have to pay a 10% gift tax but would he then be taxed on the gift as if it were income?

  • A company policy - is it legal?

I'm going to work for a company that has in its employee handbook a policy that states:

Any software or business process developed by an employee of XXX or a contractor for XXX is the

property of XXX, regardless of whether part or all of the software was patented or copyrighted, or

business process was implemented or distributed. Furthermore, any patent or copyright developed by an employee of XXX is also the property of XXX. Any information pertaining to software Development, business process creation, such patent or copyright must remain on company premises and may not be shared with any customer or competitor.

    (XXX is the company)

It seems to be saying that even if I develop my own software, they own it! Is this legal?

  • How do you explain Matthew 24:34?

How does anyone square the scripture with what has happened? It seems Jesus was talking to people of his own generation.

  • Is suicide ever the best choice?

I'm talking about suicide in a non-terminal case. Some examples:

    1. What if a child molester wants to commit suicide before she molests a child?

    2. What if you are unable to work to pay your child support but the kids would get your Social Security benefits if you died?

    3. Your life has no chance of ever becoming pleasant again (debt, prison, etc)

These are just some examples off the top of my head. It seems like everyone always says that suicide is never the best option but is that always true?

  • Can creditors monitor bank balance?

I have a judgment against me to collect a debt. So far all they have done is intercept tax returns. I'm planning to liquidate a 401K account to pay off some unrelated bills. Will the creditor be able to find out that I've liquidated the account when I put it in the checking account? Is there a way for them to monitor transfers of money?

  • What do I need to do?

I have a GED and a dead end job. I'm almost 50 and I'm wondering what I have to do to get either a degree or certified in something that will allow me to step up to a good job in health care. This would have to be something I could work on while still holding down a job. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get started and how to accomplish this? Am I already too old?

  • Michigan Labor Laws- Forced to work every day?

I work for a company that just out of the blue posted a notice that we have to work every day up until christmas with no days off. That will be 21 days straight of working 12-16 hour days! We normally had to work 6 days with Sunday off. Are there any laws at the state or federal level to fight this?

  • Why do mothers do this?

I have a friend that has a daughter. The mother is a little crazy and has gone out of her way to make sure that there is no connection between the dad and daughter. For example she makes the daughter not refer to him as "dad" and she bends the truth about his role in things very early in her childhood (he was all bad and she was the victim yada yada ). I can understand that the mom and dad don't get along but why would you do that to your own kid? I've seen the same thing over and over with other couples too. The kids don't know any better because they are only getting one side of the story but I think it's a form of child abuse to shut either parent out of a kid's life unless there is a safety issue.
