  • Do I need to pre-treat for termites if I'm building a pier and beam home?

I am building a small pier and beam house. My larger, nearby home, built on a concrete slab, does not have termites.

  • Hives from penicillin?

I've only taken penicillin once before and had no problems, but this time broke out in hives on day 9 of the treatment. I really do not want to have hives ever again.

I was feeling a little better, and after two days could finally eat something. I drank a glass of milk and hives got worse. Then, I read that there are trace amounts of penicillin in milk and cheese. Does this mean I must avoid them once I am clear of this episode?

  • I need dental advice from an expert.?

How long does it take for swelling to go down after starting Penicillin? I was started a course of 500 mg (4 at once to begin with and 4 a day afterwards) 3 1/2 days ago, but see no change (for better or worse). I had no pain to speak of to begin with, but now it hurts a little when I bite down as if there is swelling under the tooth.

Before, I had swelling next to the tooth that would spread under it and then go away, and then the cycle would repeat. So, it seems like everything is exactly the same as before I started the penicillin.

My dentist put me on Penicillin after a filling was put in. It cracked and when he refilled it, it caused swelling. He did a test and said I need a root canal. The penicillin is to get rid of the infection before the canal.

I have cardiomyopathy and am worried about the infection being worse than I thought. That is why I'm wondering if the swelling should have changed by now (84 hours...3 1/2 days).

  • For Jewish Americans?

I'm confused about how most Jewish-Americans view Obama. Before the election, a very large Jewish group backed him as their candidate of choice. However, then and now, he seems very pro-Palestinian (Muslim).

  • I'm not lesbian, but very confused...?

Many times, when I see a lesbian couple, they seem to be "gender specific"...meaning that one appears to be very effeminate and one appears to be very masculine.

If you're a woman interested in other women, how can you be attracted to someone who appears to be male, or acting in a masculine way? I know it wouldn't be exactly the same as dating a man, but isn't it close?

The same seems true for gay men. Oftentimes, both partners seem effeminate, which would be like dating a woman...and I thought the point was that they are attracted to men.

My intention is not to be disrespectful; I'm just curious.

  • Air conditioner leaks...

The air conditioner on my 2001 Jeep Liberty is leaking into my interior on the front passenger side. My mechanic "blew it out", twice, saying there could be a leaf or something caught in there. Both times, it was clear for a day or two, but now is leaking again. He says they will probably have to take the dash apart to find the problem...and that's very expensive. Any suggestions? (He showed me the hose where the air conditioner is supposed to leak into the engine area, and I saw water coming out...so, I guess it's only partially blocked.)

  • Obama or McCain?

    My real question is this...

I have looked up many polls on line. EVERY SINGLE ONE I've found shows McCain winning virtually every state. And yet, everything I've heard on the news shows the candidates neck and neck with Obama slightly in the lead...what's going on?

  • How much should I charge?

I've had some parents contact me about tutoring their child who lives in Florida. He failed the FCAT in writing (4th grade). I live in Texas and was recommended to them by a family member who lives here.

Typically, I get between $25-$35.00 per hour when I choose to charge someone.

I have no idea what to charge someone who I will have to help totally via e-mail.

  • What foods can be classified as meat aside from meat?

I'm on a diet that suggests 3 oz. of lean meat for breakfast. Would eggs be considered lean meat? I know they are not meat, but aren't they in the meat group? What about peanut butter? (I'm not sure that would be lean, however.)
