  • How much does the value of an instrument drop after using it?

Our family friend bought a new Yamaha Advantage saxophone for ~$2400. His son played it a few times then let me borrow it for a while. Now that it's been used, how much has the value dropped? He hasn't finished paying for it and we're thinking of buying it from him, but we can't afford to pay the $2400.

  • So this is a question about a guy ;)?

Background: I'm a freshman and he's a junior, but I don't think the age matters, like, at all. He's basically my dream guy. Legit. We met in marching band over the summer (he's my section leader), and I say "hi" to him every day, and he always says "hi" back. We have conversations occasionally. We're not BFFs, but we're close acquaintances.

Issue: I just recently (Friday) found out that he hangs out with some of my friends after school in the band room. I could have been doing that all year, but I haven't been until Friday *head-desk*. I don't have much time to hang out there, though, because track season starts March 14, so that leaves me about 2 weeks to become as close as possible and leave a lasting impression on him.

Question: How should I go about this without seeming too clingy, needy, psycho, etc.?

  • Is it okay for a title to not make a lot of sense until the end of the series?

It's not that important right now, because it's only a working title, but right now it's called Resentment Growing, and I'm trying to make it so the readers can guess why it's called that, but it won't make tons of sense until the climax of the last (fourth) book. Is that okay?

  • Would this dress be okay for homecoming?

It's strapless, ivory with lace and silk tiers, and comes right above the knee. Sorry, I don't have a picture :/ I was sort of thinking maybe doing a black dress with colorful accessories...

  • Do guys get over girls who don't like them back?

How long does it normally take for a guy to get over a girl that doesn't like her back? Do they normally get over them, or do some guys keep at it, even if they don't have a chance?

I ask because there's a guy that used to date my friend, and she doesn't like him anymore but he still likes her. I like him, and it'd be okay with her if I did go out with him, but I don't think he will because.... well, he likes her, not me :/

  • I want some help with getting him to notice me!?

There's this guy and he's new (well, sort of new, he had friends that go to our school before he came), and I like him and want to get to know him better. Of course, there's like 3 other girls that like him too, so I have to stand out. I know for a fact that he doesn't like one of them, so that's good. Moving on.

I've had very little interaction with him (twice at lunch and once because i asked if i could use his phone), but he sits at my lunch table, so I feel like this should be a bit easier than I'm making it. Here's the deal:

~He's in my band class, but he's all the way across the room so we can't really talk.

~His sister is in marching band and so am I. He was at the last game (last Friday) which was when I asked to use his phone, but our next performance at a home game isn't until homecoming (October 1)

~He's in my lunch and sits there for part of the time with one of his friends, then leaves and comes back periodically

~He used to date this girl that I used to be really good friends with (now, just sort of friends) and I don't know if he still likes her.

How do I make it happen?

  • Should I just be friendly until school starts?

This guy is new this year, but we're both in marching band (for the record, at my school marching band is cool and football is lame) and he's in my section. Our first football game was last Friday, and we sat next to each other and talked pretty much the entire time. We have practice every day this week and a game on Friday, and I don't know if I should start coming on stronger yet or if I should wait until like a week after school starts so everything is less hectic.

School will be crazy because we're both freshmen, and like I said he's new, so the kids who have been here for a while have to learn to navigate the school and the kids who are new have to do that plus make new friends.

Also, he broke up with his girlfriend about a month ago, and I really don't know how hard he's taking it, or if he's over it already or whatever. She pretty much asked him if she could cheat on him while they were dating and he's just like "Eff this, we're over."\

So yeah. He's got a lot on his plate. Should I stay friendly and come on stronger once everything settles down? Or should I just go for it now?

  • I'm not sure what to do now...?

So there's this guy... bahaha. Anyway, he's new this year and school hasn't started yet, but we're both in marching band (Yeah, get over it. Marching band is cool at my school and football is lame. No joke.) and he's in my section, so we're together a lot. Our first football game was last Friday, and we sat next to each other and talked pretty much the entire time, except during the performance and third quarter (if you don't know what that is, don't worry). I think I have a small crush on him now, but I'm not really sure what to do. I've noticed that once I convince myself that I "like" a guy, I geek out and the guy doesn't like me anymore. I can talk to guys who are just friends perfectly fine, it's just the cute ones that get to me I guess.

We have practice every day this week and another football game Friday, so I'll see him again. I don't know if I should do what I did at the first game, or come on stronger, or just be friendly, or what...

  • GUYS: Describe your perfect girl?

Describe her looks and personality. This is just out of curiosity. I know everyone's answer will be different, and it's not like I'm gonna try to change myself based on your answers or anything :P

  • Guys: Do bad tan lines bug you?

I'm going to a waterpark today (it's sort of a marching band field trip...), and obviously I can't do anything about my tan lines right now, or really ever. I'm a redhead, so I always wear spf 50 sunscreen, but sunscreen doesn't always work for me because I'm just so darn pale naturally. So I have my tank top tan line and my shorts tan line from running all summer, and my stomache is ghost white. Do tan lines annoy you? To be honest, tan lines on guys don't annoy me, but they annoy some of my friends (not all). I'm just wondering.

  • What's the best shampoo for me to use?

I currently use Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship, but I was thinking of switching to something else. My hair is medium-long (like right where my armpits start) but I want to grow it out longer, and it's really thick and wavy. Any suggestions?

  • Herbal Essences Totally Twisted shampoo and conditioner?

Is the Herbal Essences Totally Twisted line just for really curly hair or does it work well with wavy hair too? My hair is wavy but not like super wavy, but I was going to try some new shampoos so...

  • My bra size is awkward....?

I'm a 32D, but I can't ever find them at affordable prices, and a lot of times they only have one clasp because of the 32" band, and they don't feel like they support enough.

So is it just better to use 34Cs? The cup size is the same, it's just that the band has two clasps (pro) and is a tad loose (con).

  • Why do some girls do this?

They take pictures of themselves in their bikinis, post them on Facebook for everyone to see, read all the "OMG you're so skinny!" comments, and then say "what are you talking about? i'm SOOOO fat!"

Well. I sort of know why. I just want to see what you guys think.

  • What is your favorite perfume? What does it smell like?

I'm just wondering. My favorite is Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture. It smells sort of flowery.

  • Would an Alexis Bledel haircut look good on a round face?

This is what I'm talking about.

My face is rounder and hers is heart-shaped, but I was thinking of getting bangs like hers. Would they look okay?
