  • Forgot to turn crockpot on for 6 hours.?

This morning I put onions, bell peppers, garlic, tomatoes, pinto beans, quinoa, dried lentils, and 4 cups of vegetable stock in the crockpot but forgot to turn it on. There is NO MEAT. Which I think might make this whole thing okay. What do you think? Keep or toss? And if I keep it should I throw it in the oven to cook it faster instead?

  • My boyfriend wants ME to go on a date with ANOTHER GUY??

The service guy at the car dealership asked me out as I was getting my car back from the shop. I use the dealership whenever I need anything done mechanically on my car - this was the first time I met this guy. I still want to use the mechanics here and not get weird "service" charges if I turned this guy down so I said I didnt know him well enough to go on a date with him but since he has my number (Its in the system so they can call me when my car is done) he can text me and we can talk. Basically turning this into a "I'll talk to this guy for 5 minutes if he ever texts me, force him to lose interest in me but not have to lose my mechanic" kind of deal. My boyfriend of 3 years is in another country for the next 3 weeks. I told him about what happened to which he replied "u should've milked that for what it was worth and got discounts on stuff lol" Now, with him being out of the country he will be missing Valentines Day, which I had already expressed my sadness about. So I replied "haha that's super mean. Plus he looked like a younger version of your uncle" to which he jokingly replied with "oh so he must be desperate" so I jokingly said "Well then! Maybe I'll let him take me out to dinner on Valentines Day and buy me stuff" to which he said "yeah go for it, he'll be my replacement." Even after I said I was joking and I respect our relationship way more than that and that there will be other V-Days. He wasnt joking, he was 100% serious. "Just dinner though" is what he said

  • My boobs are killing me and I missed my period?

also I took 2 pregnancy tests. First one nothing showed up, not even a negative. It was blank. Second one a VERY faint negative showed up. But you know how it's like (+) (|) is pregnant and (-) (|) is not pregnant. Well the second (|) didn't show up it was only the faint (-).

So idk. Missed my period by 9 days now. Don't feel any different except my fricken boobs hurt like hell. Much more then they normally do when I'm on my period. Am I pregnant? Or?

  • Does your work history matter?

Hey so applying for a job and they want the last 4 places I worked at but a couple of them were seasonal and there's a job I worked at a couple years back that fits better into this industry.

Can I just skip around so I can add that one in? So instead of putting the last 4 places I worked (ABCD) I can put in like the last 2, one of the seasonal ones, and the job I worked a while back (ABDG). Does it matter?

Someone told me to only put relevant information in. And not to put two jobs that had the same responsibilities in (ex: cashier for XYZ company and then cashier for ZXY company) so in that aspect it's okay to skip around right?

  • My mom hates him, help :(?

I'm 20, he's 22. We've been together for the last 2 years and 4 months ago I moved in with him (in his moms basement) because I couldn't pay to stay on my college campus anymore.

I love him, I really do, but he's stolen things from friends and family. He has a temper and we get into dumb fights and he never thinks he's wrong. My cats don't like him because he's mean to them and he expects a lot out of me even though I go to school and work. He gets angry in stressful situations. But he makes me laugh and is sweet sometimes.

My mom says I'm too good for him and that he's using me and I should move back in with her. She says he won't amount to anything because all he has going for him is his looks which will fade. He doesn't go to school, although I convinced him to try a trade school after he pays off all his bills.

He just got a job after not having one for a year. The entire year he just played video games. And I guess his dad is going to get him a car. So it looks like things will start to look up for him?

I don't really like staying in his moms basement. His mom doesn't speak English and I feel out of place. But my moms house is constantly dirty because they don't clean and when I'm there she will treat me like a maid and not let me see him. He says if I move back in with my mom then we won't ever see eachother. Which I think is true... But he said it in a way that it sounded like he won't even try.

Should I stay or should I go? :(

  • Do I have to file state tax return?

    Worked in CT and MA.

    Only made around $7,000 total.

Paid $.03 in state income tax for CT (where I made the MAJORITY of my money)

Paid $0 for MA income taxes

So I owe them nothing and they owe me nothing. Im 19, college student, and a dependent. Do I still have to file?

  • Do I need to add this additional income?

I made less than $6,000 last year so I am filing but I also had like a contract labor job in which I made about $800 (untaxed). The woman I work for wanted to give me a W-2 so she was going to talk to her accountant but that's such a small amount of money, do I need to include it in my taxes?

  • Should I brush until gums bleed?

My cat has gingivitis (mild) so to get rid of it we've been putting this plaque buster stuff in her water and also attempted to brush her teeth today. My bf insisted on brushing her gums til they bleed. Are we supposed to do that? Or just brush the teeth?

  • Newly introduced hissing cats?

I adopted a cat (a 1 y.o.) from the shelter and had my boyfriend pick her up. He didn't know about the whole "slowly introduce them" thing and brought her right into the room with my other cat (an 8 month old).

Now, my other cat reportedly didn't hiss or growl and just walked around cautiously. Making eye contact with the new one occasionally. The new cat, who is very loving, reportedly hissed at her. She did this twice and so my old cat hissed back.

I don't want them to fight. I know they can both get along they are super sweet and both have had other feline friends.

I suspect the only reason why the new cat hissed is because she's in a new environment and she must be scared.

How do I fix this? Should I just let them work it out?

  • My cat is stuck in the ceiling!!!?

In the basement, we have those tiled ceilings that you can push up. However, a majority of them are wired in place. One of them was open and pushed back and my cats took the opportunity to climb onto the nearby desk and jump up and in. We can't get them out because the tiles won't move. We tried coaxing with food. What can I do?!

  • How worried should I be? (Flea question)?

My boyfriend told me that one of my kittens that i just adopted had been biting her tail earlier. So I grabbed the flea comb and combed out her tail, finding flea dirt. Not a lot but still.

Then my comb picked up a flea which I drowned and threw the water outside, I continued to comb until there was no more dirt and I didn't pick up any more fleas, just the one. So after that I bathed her. Then I did the same to my second kitten. I picked up no flea dirt but I did pick up a flea. Drowned it and threw it out. Bathed her as well.

Then i vacuumed the floor, threw everything in the washer, placed the kittens in the kennel, set up the "flea trap" which is the lamp over the water and tomorrow I will get the carpet solution for the fleas as well as Bayer advantage for cats.

I am taking my cats to my boyfriends house tomorrow after they are treated. Is that a good thing to do? I'm hoping it will prevent any fleas jumping back on and my boyfriend doesn't have carpet.

  • Will tapeworm medicine kill pinworms?

Also what's the difference between them?

    2 AnswersInfectious Diseases8 years ago
  • What are the odds there was only one tapeworm?

My cat just had a tapeworm come out of her bum. Which is odd, since they need a host to survive and this one just came out of her. It was about a half an inch, maybe less. I bought her some tapeworm medicine (Tradewinds tapeworm medicine for cats). Which she didnt really like and spat out. So i crushed it and rolled one of her treats in it. She didnt eat it but the dust from the medicine came off into her mouth. My boyfriend put the rest of the pill in her water (stupid, I know) but we have more and will try another tomorrow. I bought a flea comb and combed her and she has no fleas, she is an indoor cat. I also saw her eat a bug a week ago which is how I think she got it. I investigated her fecal matter and there were no eggs or traces of a tapeworm. What are the chances there was just the one? Also, any better way to give her her medicine? Can I force it (as mean as that sounds)?

  • Keeping cats seperated?

Hi. I have two kittens. Both of them have eye infections. They've been getting better with their medicine but I read somewhere I should keep then separate so they don't reinfect each other.

My problem is that I live with my mom and brother who are incapable of watching them so I keep them in my room. I've been putting one in a cat carrier for about an hour or so then letting her out of the carrier after the hour to potty, get some water, stretch, etc. then it's back in for her. Any better way to keep them separated?

  • Is my window AC broken?

It's a window AC. One of the vents where air comes out just stopped. It sounds like it wants to blow air out but nothing's coming out. The vent on the other side is working fine. We unplug the AC when not in use. Is it broken or is it just stuck or something? Anyway to fix it?

  • Will I still have my documents if I backed up my computer?

My computer has been getting slower and slower, it blue screened out on me the other day, it refuses to connect to wifi, and sometimes won't let me type. It's time for a new one. I backed it up today and really, the only things I care about are my documents and photos. I can still retrieve those if I get a new computer right? Like I can plug in my USB to a new one and restore my files? Or is that not a thing. This one is a dell Inspiron operating off of windows 7
