Why must shunning someone that decides to disassociate themselves or other reasons versus a person that has decided not to continue with baptizm or someone who studies but doesn't change their ways, or has different points of religious views, and those family members that chose to continue in their apostate ways or other scenarios that do not get shunned.

I have received and completed a bible study with the JW's and started attending Sunday Service and Theocratic School days for about a year now. I had started my study with the first book 3 years ago. I feel like I might be ready for the comittement of babtizm but when I ask about wearing pants to service/school days I don't get a direct answer if I can still get babtized or not. They just keep telling me that a change will naturally come to me when I am ready to wear skirts. However, I don't have time to go home and change after work and I don't own many skirts to be honest. I have been wearing pants and have asked about it being a problem but was told I can wear what I feel comfortable in.

Will a JW please answer honestly and directly if yes you still can be babtized or not, regardless if I decide to wear skirts or not?
