  • Is my homemade rat food mix healthy?!?

So my mix is pretty much the same as Suebee's rat mix. I was sick of buying expensive "rat" food that had so much bad stuff for my boys! I had to pick out the dried corn (it contains fungus) and then the alfalfa pellets too since its also bad for the little ratties. So I started doing some more research and I also follow the rat forum. I came across Suebee rat mix recipe. So I did alter it a little and want to know if this is a healthy mix for my male ratties! :)

    3/4 lbs --rolled oats

6.5 oz---Kashi 7 whole grain puffs cereal (no sugar!)

10.6 oz--total whole grain cereal (no sugar!)

    1/4 lbs--roasted, unsalted soy nuts

    8oz--rainbow rotini pasta

1/4 lbs--raw shelled sunflower seeds(wanted them in a shell but they didn't have any)

    1/4 lbs--whole grain millet

I mixed it all together and keep it in a air tight cereal container,

On top of this mix food I do give them fruits and veggies everyday! Not too much though :)

Need some expert opinions here thank you!

    from a rattie mama!

also, I do give them Ecotrition's Vita-sol liquid multivitamins in there water. I don't put as much as recommend because they already get a lot of vitamins from there food mix :
