My name sake was one of the first to translate the Bible into english and about 85% - 95% of the King James Version of the English bible is his work. Comming up a southern baptist Christian and later after taking time to read other Holy text, I found the truth found first in the teachings of Jesus became apparent in other mainstream doctrines of faith. There is a hidden truth common to the Torah, New Testament and Quran (not to mention other holy text.) My goal here in Yahoo Q&A is to find like minded people, Who have experienced the indwelling spirit, to help spread that spirit of divine love to all who seek it. This concept is universal in nature and embraces all religious faiths. Let us search for the common teachings of the Icons of the faith of our families. If we focus on what they taught that was in common, we all will come closer to the truth. This truth is about the oneness of God and the unity that is revealed in Love. • How many verses are there that show Jesus preaching the Gospel to the dead?

Please quote your source, chapter and verse. Extra "Light" for any verse that says he did it while in the grave for 3 days.

  • In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. What word was it?

    In all love,

How many different words do you know that identify or point to the state, consciousness or being of the "Word" referenced in John 1:1?

Hint: There are many more then you (we) know..

    Blessings and peace,

    All in all,

  • Have you ever had an epiphany and not been compelled to tell anyone?

Think about it…. When ever we have a bit of spiritual growth or enlightenment why are we compelled to share it or teach others?

    Is it ego?

    Is it sharing love?

Do we seek to be justified in what we see?

Are we unsure and want to see who else sees what we see?

Do we want to be seen as an anointed one?

Can we be enlightened and only wait for someone to ask us?

If we hold truth it should be self evident in the way we present to others, either by the glow or either the light of divine love shining through.

Understand there is no judgment here for in reality the answer has two poles of understanding.

One pole is to know the nature of things. God is and will always be divine love and nothing can separate us from that so why try to convince anyone of a certain path as all is divine love guiding all of us. Why would we ever doubt that our brother is not rightly led or that God has abandoned him? He has in fact never abandoned me.

  • How Is It That A Corporation can participate in an election, through contributions, but it can not vote?

Registered individuals have the legal right to vote in our elections. Nowhere is a corporation allowed to vote. Why is it that we allow corporations to contribute to elections that they are not allowed to participate (vote) in? Is it then obviously wrong for a corporation to be allowed to contribute money to campaigns?

    Simple, but obviously overlooked.

  • Is it just me? Or is the political retoric of the canidates the same old same old?

    You know,

I feel like we are being duped.

There is not a nickles worth of difference between the two political parties as it effect us the people.

A vote for the Republicans ultimately is a vote for the Democrats and a vote for the Democrats is a vote for the Republicans.

Our system is not a two party system. Instead it is like unto two heads on the body of one serpant that has beguiled us. On the face of one head is a donkey and on the face of the other head is an elephant.

I for one have had a gut full of it!

This was a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Now it is a country of the political elite, by the lobbiest, for the corporate elite.

Laws are passed to protect big business.

We are told we are being protected by our government from the terrorist and yet in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina the interest of the insurance companies were protected yet so many of the people are still with our their homes. Who protected them?

  • What do the teachings of Abraham, Jesus and Muhammad have in common?

I see that there is a common hidden teaching in all three of the Holy Books of the Jews, Christians and Muslims. Since a little boy I have been lead to believe that we all would come closer to the truth if we focused on what we have in common instead of our percieved differences.

There are plenty of people who wish to exploit the different perspectives of each of the faiths. I only want to exploit the things we have in common.

Please if you want to denigrate another persons religion there are leigions who will support you in that. Go to them to share those ideas. Here, please only focus on what good we have in common. Things like the worship of one God. Good deeds. Teachings of love. Things like that. I will select the answer that exploits the most teachings that are common to all three. Any negative feed back about anothers faith or religion will disqualifiy your entry.

Good Luck. Move forward in love!
