2 AnswersCard Games1 decade agoHow soon will the baby come?
My wife is 37 weeks pregnant, dialated 4.5cm and over 85% effaced. She just had a membrane sweep done yesterday and told us the baby should come within the next 48-72 hours. It's already been 24 and my wife feels no changes. Is it really safe to say the baby will come within the next two days, or should I be prepared to wait longer?
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhere is the Dome Lamp Switch on a 2009 Chevy HHR?
I've been looking all over and I don't see it. My rear dome light doesn't come on at all and I didn't know if it's just blown or a switch was flipped to make it not come on. Does anyone know where it is? And if there is none, How do I change the dome light (without breaking it) and what size bulb does it require?
2 AnswersChevrolet1 decade agoWhat do you think of Calleigh, for a girl?
Having my first child and my wife and I are going through names. We're both CSI fanatics so I picked the name "Calleigh", named for CSI Calleigh Duquesne. The character portrayed is very sweet and forgiving, very mild mannered, thorough and to the point. I thought of it as an awesome name! What do you think?
12 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWould I get sued for this (yugioh dueling program)?
I want to make a Yu-Gi-Oh Virtural Dueling app for the iPhone/iPod/iPad. I was going to leave the "Yu-Gi-Oh" name off of it to prevent copyright infringement. The purpose of the app is to simulate what we see in the anime: duels in "solid vision". All monsters actually come out of cards, move and execute attacks. The yugioh games available right now just downright suck. In the DS games, they have sprites that have just limited movements and no attack animations, and the PSP games only have select monsters with summon and attack animations. I want to revolutionize it, being a fan of the game. I'm definitely considering making it available for free, however, could I be sued for charging a small fee? if so, then i'll just make it available for free.
3 AnswersCard Games1 decade agoWhy does my 2002 Mitsibuishi Galant's heat work wierdly?
My car blows little to no heat. On the average car, it takes roughly 5-10 minutes for the coolant to rise in temperature. My car is no different, however it takes it longer to produce heat to warm the cabin of my car. However, in order for my heat to work, my heat has to be off, in order to build the heat, then I can turn the fan to the lowest setting and very hot air comes out... for about 10 seconds. Then it warms... then cools... then I have to turn my heat off again, let it build and repeat the process as I'm driving... it's very troublesome. I've replaced the T-stat twice, flushed the cooling system twice, changed the radiator cap twice, made sure my car has adequate coolant and even had my dash ripped apart and replaced the heater core once... Now, when the heater core was replaced, my heat seemed to work perfectly, however, that was a year ago... now the heat is gone. This is a very common problem with this car and I wish mitsubishi had a common solution, but they don't. Can anyone help me? I can't afford to spend thousands of dollars, and i'm semi-handy with tools and cars. I just need a straight answer. Please help!
5 AnswersMitsubishi1 decade agoAgain with my 2002 Galant...?
It's been 3 months since I've had this problem with my car. I've posted a few problems and my solutions, so i'm hoping that someone with automotive expertise can help me, as I am running out of options (and money).
Since June of this year, the acceleration of my car has been terrible. If I floor my gas pedal from 0 MPH, then the car stalls, until I let up on the gas. Once I let up, it begins to slowly gain speed. I can't run the A/C while driving because that makes the problem worse (even tapping the gas pedal won't move the car) so I have to drive around without any relief from the heat.
So, to attempt to remedy this, I took my car to Firestone. They did an engine diagnostic on it and found that oil was leaking onto my spark plugs, and that my intake manifold had a crack in it, causing a vacuum leak. I had them replace the spark plugs and wiring, and the manifold. At this point, I'm thinking that the problem is solved, but it still drives the same as it was. On top of that, when I go under the hood, i can hear a hissing sound, coming from around the manifold. Another mechanic told me that it was my alternator making that noise and i have nothing to worry about. I cleaned the mass air flow sensor, with no change in performance, so I had it replaced, still for no change. I've cleaned the manifold and butterfly valve with intake cleaner, for a slight change in performance, but nothing significant. Today, I just replaced my battery because I was thinking that maybe the battery didn't have enough power to do it all. So after replacing my battery, the performance of my car improved, just a tiny bit. This leads me to wonder if I still have a vacuum leak somewhere that I can't see. Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
3 AnswersMitsubishi1 decade agoAcceleration hesitation in 2002 Mitsubishi Galant, ES...?
My 2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES accelerates slowly up hills, requiring me to floor the gas pedal to get to 10 mph. This problem has been ongoing for the past 2 months and no one can give me a straight answer. I took my car to Firestone and the told me that I have a vacuum leak because my intake manifold was cracked. I had the manifold replaced and the problem never resolved. They told me my spark plugs were misfiring and i had my spark plugs and wires replaced, and that did not solve the problem. I was told the mass air flow was dirty, had it cleaned, problem still exists. My alternator is hissing, tho, but they said the alternator is hissing but i'm being told it has nothing to do with my acceleration problem. Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on with my car so that I may fix it?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy does my car (2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES) accelerate so poorly?
Since June 1st, my car's performance has been deteriorating. My 2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES has been accelerating poorly going uphill and on level ground. I took it to Firestone and ran an engine diagnostic. They told me that my spark plugs were saturated in oil, causing a multiple misfire, engine ignition coils were also saturated, and my battery terminal was loose. Had all of those issues fixed. After the oil leak was fixed, they heard evidence of a vacuum leak and told me that my intake manifold had a crack in it. I had that replaced and hoses replaced as well. Car still accelerates poorly, and I cannot hold a steady speed on highway. Fuel injection service was performed but still resulted in poor acceleration. Mass Air Flow was cleaned out and problem didn't get any better. When I floor the pedal, it hesitates to shift. Transmission was just serviced. While I run the A/C, car barely moves when I step on the pedal. I am out of options, patience and almost out of cash. Anyone have an idea as to why my car accelerates so poorly? My only other thought is that my fuel filter is clogged and I'm going to have that replaced next Friday. Any thoughts?
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade ago2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES has low RPM, struggles to accelerate. Please assist.?
About 2 weeks ago, my car started to have these problems. After I start the ignition, the RPM is very low, like maybe between 1 and 2, and it used to be at least 2-3 immediately after ignition. To make matters worse, it struggles to accelerate from a full stop. When going up a hill, I have to floor the pedal to maintain speed, and it jerks itself as I floor it. I'm thinking that my fuel filter is clogged and needs to be replaced.
Anyone else have an opinion?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do you "re-pottytrain" a 5-year old?
My stepson is 5, he knows how to use the bathroom but doesn't. He goes freely on himself on a daily basis, even though he's been scolded and disciplined. He only goes when we take him to the bathroom. My wife, tired of the daily 'accidents', decides to put a "pull-up" on him at night to keep him from wetting the bed, but in my opinion, he is getting reacquainted with the diaper days when he uses it. Nothing I have tried has worked so far to get him to stop going on himself. I refuse to buy any more pull-ups and I'm determined to train him to 'hold himself' until he gets to a toilet. What can I do?
I've tried rewards, disciplinary methods, and talking to him. Please help.
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoNo heat in Mitsubishi 2002 Galant ES?
When i first bought my Galant last year, my heat was working perfectly. Then one day, all of a sudden, i went to turn it from 'cold' to 'hot' and i heard a loud/rapid clicking noise from behind the dashboard. It lasted for about 5-6 seconds and then stopped. Afterwards, I had no heat. The next morning, I constantly went back and forth between hot and cold and i got some heat back. But then the noise came a few days later and the heat was gone for good. I tried a lot of things to restore heat to my car. I flushed my anti-freeze first, then I ended up changing out the radiator (because in the summer, my car overheated repeatedly, and when I used my A/C, the passenger side floor would be flooded with water.). I found that the coolant inside my radiator looked like mud! There was no flow of coolant to my engine at all, as it was being evaporated inside the radiator. The hoses were all blocked with this brown, muddy texture substance. After a complete replacement was done, we changed the fluids and hoped and prayed for heat. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem. We figured that the muddy coolant had clogged some vital parts so we continued to investigate. My dad (a mechanic) suspected the waterpump to be bad and maybe that was causing the problem. So, just recently, we replaced the water pump and we were right about the water pump being bad, but even that didn't solve the lack of heat problem.
I researched the internet and found numerous discussion board posts staying, "The heater core is bad" or "the heater control valve is bad". I was trying to avoid ripping apart my dashboard but my dad feels that the muddy-coolant substance may have clogged the heater core and it needs to be replaced or unclogged, and I'm about two weeks away from ripping my dash apart.
Has anyone had a similar issue? And if so, what did you do about it?
For those who took your vehicle to the dealer, how much did they charge? How much is a factory grade heater core for my vehicle?
Your insight is very much appreciated, in advance.
Thanks
