I read that television can reduce your lifespan. Does the same go for other electronic devices like computers, laptops, iPads, phones, etc?
Hi guys,
I was just curious if laptops and other electronic devises had the same life-reducing effect. I read that too much TV can lower lifespan, as can too much sitting, too little or too much sleep, and so on.
Thanks in advance for answers.
1 AnswerBiology4 years agoHow does a "do not resuscitate" request work (please read the description before answering)?
Hi guys, I was wondering about filling out a request for do not resuscitate because I am not keen on the risks of it (brain damage from blood deprivation, broken ribs, collapsed lung, inability to function as before). Also, because I am in very poor health and am on alot of medications, it's not likely that I would "pull through". But my question is does the "do not resuscitate" only count if you are at end of life or going in for serious operations, or does it count for anything. For example, if I had it on my notes not to resuscitate me but wasn't at end of life, and suddenly and randomly had a cardiac arrest, would they be unable to resuscitate me? Or is it only for serious conditions when cardiac arrest is likely? Thanks in advance.

I am aware that type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, but is type 2 diabetes also an autoimmune disease?
2 AnswersDiabetes5 years agoHow hard is life living with type 1 diabetes?
As a type 1 diabetic, or someone who knows someone with type 1 diabetes;
1) What is life like?
2) How hard is it to live with?
3) Do the insulin injections hurt or sting?
4) how often do you have to take insulin injections?
5) What symptoms do you get during hypos or hypers?
6) Is it scary to live with?
7) Does your diabetes make you feel unwell in yourself?
8) What is your worst type 1 diabetic experience?
9) How were you diagnosed (random blood test, ketoacidosis, etc)?
10) What is a general day like with type 1 diabetes?
I am sorry if these questions are stupid or idiotic, and that there are alot of questions, but I am interested in the illness. I would also like to say that I pass no judgments or harsh comments to anyone with type 1 diabetes in this question. All the best to you all, and thanks in advance for the answers.

3 AnswersOther - Diseases5 years agoAre Addison's disease, hypothyroidism, vitiligo, and type 1 diabetes related to eachother?
What I mean by this question is that if you have one of these conditions are you more likely to develop another?
3 AnswersOther - Diseases5 years agoIs someone with Addison's disease more likely to develop type 1 diabetes, hypothyroidism and other autoimmune problems?
I was diagnosed with Addison's disease yesterday and have heard that it increases your risk of developing other autoimmune problems, never mind the risks from long-term steroid-use (type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure).
2 AnswersDiabetes5 years agoWhat infections are most likely to cause Guillain Barré Syndrome?
I know it usually occurs after minor infections, such as pharyngitis, common cold, influenza, or gastroenteritis. However, I do suffer from alot of infections, particularly bacterial skin infections and viral respiratory tract infections.
What infections are most likely to lead to Guillain Barré Syndrome? I worry quite alot about an infection causing me to develop the condition, but then I have OCD, and my OCD is likely the cause of the worry, but please could you tell me the main infections or medical conditions that can lead to Guillain Barré Syndrome? Thanks.
2 AnswersInfectious Diseases5 years agoCan someone help me about my mums pain?
My mum has a dull ache in the right side of the back of her head, which started Thursday Morning, and when she moves her head, she gets an excruciating stabbing pain in the same area, enough to make her scream or cry, though the stabbing only lasts about 3 - 10 seconds, before going back to the dull ache and the cycle continues. She can barely move her head at all, any direction, as doing so causes severe pain. Is this nerve pain? What could be the cause of this? I want to take her to A&E but she simply won't, and I am not a person to force someone.

My neighbor has lupus and she told be that it is impossible to get SLE unless you are 50 or over. Sounds illogical to me...
4 AnswersOther - Diseases5 years agoHow long do the effects, both psychological and physical, effects of diazepam last? Also, how long do they stay in your bloodstream after?
I suffer from OCD and fibromyalgia, both of which makes me very agitated at times or causes me to have intense feeling of anxiety, agitation and frustration (but not anger).
I am on treatment for the OCD and Firomyalgia; for OCD I take Sertraline (Zoloft) 200mg once a day and for fibromyalgia I take Pregabalin (Lyrica) 300mg twice a day.
And sometimes despite this, I need to take diazepam. It is not a tablet I take every day, or even often. I took it tonight, first time since September 2015. I can take between 2mg and 10mg up to three times a day, or atleast that is what my prescription says.
I only ever take diazepam when I am having an episode of intense anxiety, agitation or upset. I will also take it if someone upsets me outside (such as shouts at me or threatens me), as I have oversensitive emotions due to OCD and fibromyalgia, so by people really upsetting me, which doesn't take much, will really trigger symptoms of extreme frustration, irritability, suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, extreme anxiety, and also symptoms of my physical problems such as pain, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, sweating, arrhythmia, and seizures. So to prevent this I will take diazepam.
So, for those who want to know why I am on diazepam long term, there's your answer, though technically I'm not on them long term as I go months at a time between doses and only take them when the above problems show up
So, How long do the effect of diazepam last, and how long is it in your blood and urine?

I live in the UK; specifically England. I was wondering if it was legal in England to attack a burglar with something in order to defend and protect yourself and your home?

1 AnswerYouTube5 years agoI've just read that glucosamine can destroy beta cells, stopping or reducing insulin production causing type 1 or 2 diabetes. It this true?
I have read a few articles that said it can affect the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas, potentially causing type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. I was just wondering if this is true. Thanks.
