I'm desperate for just a few dozen daffodils in October for a Michigan, USA wedding. I know they're spring flowers, and impossible to obtain. I just wondered if anyone else had any luck obtaining out-of-season flowers from overseas, or knows any hints on locating off-season flowers.

My sister's bachelorette party is this weekend in another state. I'd like to call a bar they're going to ahead of time and arrange to pay for a round of fun shots for the ladies. we had a child soon after we married (honeymon surprise!) and have been busy raising her together and loving it. We are very happy as a family, but feel like the time we spend raising our daughter made us miss out on building our own relationship a little more and laying a more solid foundation. We're both 100 percent committed to the relationship and love each other and our daughter. I just wonder what suggestions anyone has for strengthening our relationship and reigniting the connection we had before kids :) What do you do to connect with your spouse on a level deeper than childcare, laundry and dishes? I need to start exercising, but my kids are up at 6, and I go nonstop until they're in bed at 8:30, then all I want to do is curl up and watch TV! How do I motivate myself to carve out some real exercise time? (I used to put them in the stroller and walk, but now that they're too big, they want to ride trikes/scooters and go SO slow it takes us an hour to get around a few blocks- not a great workout for Mom!) Any great ideas on motivating yourself to get to the gym before the kids wak up/after they're in bed, or working exercise into your daily routines while maintaining the household stuff? We need a piece of our fence repaired and one estimate calls for "milled" cedar stockade fence, while the other just calls for regular cedar stockade. Is there a difference? Thanks

At my husband's company, it is apparently customary to give the secretaries $100 as a Christmas present. Am I the only one who thinks that is insane? She is nice enough, but we know NOTHING about her personal story or hobbies/collections to actually buy her a present, and cash just seems so tacky. (My husband is a new attorney, and he doesnt even use her very much!) I guess I am just being a Grinch, but it irks me.......thoughts?

Hi, we just brought home our 10 week old bichon/poodle. I would like to start crate training her but every book/article I read has slightly different directions. I am home all day, but our house is big and I cant keep an eye on her 24/7. While I train her, should she be kept in the crate (she likes it) for a 2-3 hour stretch and then taken outside to walk and go, and keep going like that (2 hours in, then outside) all day long? Please tell me what schedule worked for you

We just brought our 8 week bichon/poodle home yesterday, and although the breeder said she was housebroken, she has had almost ALL accidents since she came here. We take her out for walks, nothing. We play in the backyard, nothing- then we find little surprises all over the house. What do I do to help her adjust to our house and get the idea that eliminations are supposed to happen outside?

It's my turn to bring a snack to pre-k, and it's "red day". Any cool ideas for red snacks for 3 year olds? The more creative, the better. I don't want to buy a bag of Twizzlers and send them in....
