  • After watching the Legends game who retired too soon?

Barring the fact that some quit the game due to long term injuries it was also clear that some just left too soon and could have gone on to play longer. Who do you think could still play AFL today?

  • What one player in your team do you consider is the biggest handicap to the side?

Much as I hate to say it, as someone who loves my team, but if I had to pick one from Essendon it would be Angus Monfries. He contributes very little week in and week out and I think he is the biggest deadweight in the Essendon side at present. Who do you think your team should drop and why?

  • Winter Olympics - what do you love about it and what do you hate?

I am loving watching the winter olympics, probably because I live in Australia which is anything but a country that focusses on winter sports, and I am glued to downhill skiing. Got to say the snowboarding is a new one and I was excited to see an aussie win (go Torah Bright).

For me, however, the main drawback was the mens ice skating where the russian guy just missed out to the American guy (dont ask me names). Whilst the american was obviously fantastic (yes he was) the other guy did things far more difficult and didnt land on his posterior on the ice but lost out by the teeniest of margins.

Now I have to confess Im not a person who usually watches this stuff (as if you didnt guess this already) and I dont expect aussies to win much because, lets face it, show us water and we are happier, but I would love to know what appeals most and least to you and why.

  • New 'away' guernseys...do they work?

I thought the AFL wanted new away jumpers for teams to eliminate any confusion between sides.

Looking at a couple of games this weekend Im not so sure it works.

There was, to my way of thinking, more confusion with the dockers wearing a white shirt with Collingwood's white as well. There would have been more sense in wearing their traditional purple guernsey.

I cant understand where the clash would have been in the Hawks match either that necessitated a predominantly white top either.

I dont think it works at all but would be interested to hear anyone else's thoughts on this.

  • Big Bad did it again...how long will he be out this time?

Big Bad Barry Hall has once again booked a trip to the tribunal.

I heard Robert Walls say he should expect 4-5 weeks this time.

How many weeks do you think he is going to get and is this the end of the road for him.

  • Who do you consider the biggest 'bully' playing today?

Okay we all know Barry Hall has a reputation for being a bully but I have to say that lately I have considered Port's Dean Brogan as being the main 'bully boy' of the league.

I thought it was the game against Essendon that started it but it seems to be a weekly event for him. He tends to try to 'psych' the opposition and goes for the body not the ball. Someone should tell him that he should check the scoreboard more often..if anyone needs psyching it obviously isnt the opposition.

  • Is there a good, reliable and free virus remover?

I have looked (and run) many programs that say they can scan and remove viruses from my pc...they will tell you what is there but leave it there then they hit you with a 'pay and get the protection' when they initially advertise as being 'free'.

Can anyone suggest a really effective one. I tried AVG for ages but found it really didnt make a lot of difference and have had a squared free for a short time. Also tried one care and found that to be totally useless. Any thoughts?

  • Victorian Bushfires Relief funds?

Just in case people havent heard about the bushfires here in Victoria that are still raging there are currently 181 people confirmed dead but more are expected as the firefighters can get into more isolated areas.

The red cross here are taking donations if people overseas want to contribute something. You can go directly to their website to donate

www.redcross.org.au if you would like to give.

The people here in Australia are rallying and coming together to help the victims as well as the government but whether or not you are an Aussie living overseas or just someone who has been touched by what you have seen or heard doesnt make much difference, these people need help and I would really urge everyone to give, even a little.

  • Spare a thought for the CFA, Police and others working in the Victorian Bushfires.?

I cannot begin to imagine what these people are going through as they are seeing such destruction of property and life. It has to affect them for the rest of their lives. I know that they do what they do because, for a lot of them, its their jobs but Australia, and here in Victoria particularly, they need to know that we value them.

    Let them know below.

  • HD set top box connecting to analog tv (Australia)?

I have just purchased a hd box and want to connect it. I have foxtel currently feeding through a vcr then to the television. I read the booklet that said connect to antenna (which is already connected to all the other junk I have). Im not sure if I need anything other than what came with the hd box and I need really uncomplicated, straightforward instructions...not very good with technical terms and stuff. Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • How seriously do you think your team takes the preseason cup?

After hearing that my own team, Essendon, will not be playing most of the more prominent players and Dean Laidley saying that they will be taking it easy on some of their main players how serious do you think your team will take the nab cup (or any teams).

Is there a place for this type of competition where risking injuries that could affect a player in the home and away season worth it?

  • Dreaming of having a baby with an ex?

I recently dreamt that I was in a strange house holding a toddler. I knew his name and he had just woken up. I went to the kitchen to get him a drink and standing there was an ex that I havent seen for a couple of years, and even hadnt been thinking of. He took the baby from me and kissed him, then kissed me.

What does it all mean. Im well over the guy and I dont have a son, a daughter yes, but not a son.

  • Why is english a subject neglected by teachers ?

Im not sure about anyone else but I cannot help but be astounded by the way people spell on these boards. Not just sms style abbreviations but straight out phonetic spelling. Do teachers not put enough effort into correcting students work or letting bad grammar slide through because its so prolific?

Im sorry, it just annoys me beyond belief.

  • What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

For me easily the worst movie was Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet...so, so bad.

There are a few more but this one is the standout for all the wrong reasons.

  • Do you think your government is doing enough to address global warming? What should they be doing?

The Australian Prime Minister announced yesterday that they have set a goal to reduce emissions between 5 and 15% by 2020.

Environmental groups reacted with disbelief to this and said it doesnt go far enough.

The other side of the coin is that the costs for power will rise and many wont be able to afford the basic access costs.

Is the government wise to set attainable goals that allow everyone to benefit without putting the whole of society under financial pressures or should they do what the environmentalists want and make widespread, radical changes now.

Do you have any thoughts on ways this could work
