I am first and foremost a christian. I try not to be a hypocrit but I am never the less human and therefore, not perfect. I teach Sunday School at a local nursing home and I enjoy singing in my church. I love the word of God and enjoy sharing it with anyone who is willing to listen.

  • For all those who ask "Why did God do this to me?"...?

Me (in a tizzy) : God, can I ask you something?

    GOD: Sure.

Me: Promise you won't get mad?

    GOD: I promise.

Me (frustrated): Why did you let so much stuff happen to me today?

    GOD: What do you mean?

Me: Well I woke up late,

    GOD: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start,

    GOD: Okay....

Me (growling): At lunch, they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait

    GOD: Hmmmm..

Me: On the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call

    GOD: All right

Me (loudly): And to top it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to

    soak my feet

in my foot massager and relax, but it wouldn't work. Nothing went right

    today!

    Why did you do that?

GOD: Well let me see... the death angel was at your bed this morning and

    I had

to send one of the other angels to battle him for your life. I let you

    sleep through that.

    Me (humbled): Oh...

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on

    your route

that might have hit you if you were on the road

    Me (ashamed): ............Hmmmmm.....

GOD: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't

want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss

    work

    Me (embarrassed): Oh.....

GOD: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going

    to

give a false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let

    you talk to

them so you would be covered

    Me (softly): I see God

GOD: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that was going to throw

    out

all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be

    in the dark.

    Me: I'm sorry God.

GOD: Don't be sorry, just learn to trust me......in all things, the good

    and the bad.

Me: I WILL trust you God

GOD: And don't doubt that my plan for your day is always better than

    your plan

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, thank you for everything

    today.

GOD: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I

    love looking after my children.

Scriptural References: II Samuel 22:31, Proverbs 3:5, Hebrews 2:13

  • Atheists and Christians, do you know who made this statement?

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

Hint: The author shows us that scientists and astrologers are not all unbelievers. Neither are all believers ignorant of science.

  • Has anyone ever done a scientific study on...?

the growth of the population of the world and studied the rate of growth in reverse in order to determine the age of mankind? I'm not sure if this question is clear enough to understand. If not, I'll try again.

  • What do you think about this statement from John Adams?

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." - John Adams

To me, it is a clear statement by one of our founding fathers that America is founded on christian principles. I don't think a christian would be talking about any other God, or religious figure than Christ. And if you are thinking "That's just one man's opinion", remember, 98% of the founding fathers were publicly professed christians. What do you think?

  • In Matthew 16:18, what is the difference between the name Peter...?

and the "rock" that the church is founded on? Before you answer, get your concordance out and look. The original Greek used for the name Peter and rock are different in meaning.

  • Why are some people so desparate to maintain their denial...?

That they have to resort to open lies in order to do so. If you are that weak in your disbelief, maybe you should have a little faith.

  • Concerning previous question that was apparently deleted?

What does an atheist doctor say to the atheist family concerning a coma patient that the doctors cannot help?

Just for the record; if the doctor is faithful to his/her unbelief, there is only one response. "We have done all we can. There is nothing else that can be done. Good luck."

    What are your thoughts?

  • Just curious. Do catholics believe that they have to confess their sins...?

to a priest in order to be saved. And if they do, how do you explain Acts 4:10-12 where the bible that the Catholic church assembled says that Jesus in the only one that can save us from our sins? Doesn't this create a contradiction between what the Catholic Church teaches and the bible?

Don't be angry. I am not trying to bash anyone. I am just looking for understanding in the Catholic teaching.

  • Do people actually believe that they will be punished....?

For the sins of Adam and Eve? Do you really believe that blaming Adam and Eve is going to excuse your own sin?

  • Christians and religious people alike, also atheists and nonbelievers....?

How many of you would like for Y/H answers to open a nonreligious and spirituality section for the nonbelievers and atheists to have somewhere to dialogue?

BQ: Do you think they, atheists and nonbelievers, would go there to exchange thoughts or stay here?

BQ #2: How many christians and religious people would go to that section?

Personally, I would like to see Y/H answers do this. The only way to truly know is to see what would happen.

  • Christians, do you agree with this?

Around every christian witness lies a pack of ravening wolves. But between the christian and the wolves stands the Word of God.

  • This question is to people who use names and images....?

    images....?

to depict themselves as christians and then use the most vile language in their questions and responses. Do you think that you are doing Christ a good service, or are you just trying to make Him look bad?

I posed this question last night and got only 4 answers. All were from atheists that just said God doesn't exist. That is not the question. For that reason, I deleted the question. I am re-posting it in the hopes that some who do what I have asked about will respond truthfully. (But I doubt it will happen.)

  • Is it just me, or do the atheists seem especially active tonight?

I have received more thumbs down in a matter of a few moments than I usually do. Any other christians receiving this kind of aggressive rejection tonight? It's not that I mind, I'm used to not being very popular here. I'm just curious.

  • Christians why do you worship a criminal? If Jesus didn't commit a crime he would not have been crucified?

I thought it necessary to respond to this question in this way because it is important for the mouth of those who would spread lies in order to deceive to be stopped. Any one who thinks Jesus was convicted of a crime needs to read Luke 23:13-16. The trial of Jesus by Pilate.

    (13) And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

    (14) Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I , having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:

    (15) No. nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.

    (16) I will therefore chastise him, and release him.

Jesus was declared innocent of all charges by Pilate and King Herod. What say you to this?

  • Is the universe created or is it eternal?

I cannot be both. Either it is created, meaning there is a point of origin that had to be established by some great power, or it is eternal meaning that it has no beginning and no end. Which do you agree with? Again, it CANNOT be both. It has to be one or the other.

  • If the universe started from a 'Big Bang'.....?

why are all, and I mean ALL, the planets, stars, and moons round? Wouldn't they be many different shapes if they were the result of a giant explosion? And please don't use meters or asteroids as a response. These are obvious results from impacts or explosions within the universe. I am talking about planets, stars, and moons.

  • If people are born gay, then where is the 'gay gene'?

Scientists know what genes make us what we are. They know which ones determine our sex, male or female, which ones determine our hair color, eye color, ear size, foot size, or immunity ability. Why can't they find the 'gay gene'? How can a gene determine how a person "feels" about another person? How does a gene determine a person's 'desires'? How can that which is set and coded determine the actions of that which is not set and not coded (how can the molecule combination of H2O determine the temperature of the water?) It is my determination that it cannot (it takes outside influences to determine the temp of the water, just as it is outside influences that determine the sexual desires of a person.) There is no scientific evidence I know of that shows otherwise.

Am I correct? And if not, please show me the evidence to prove I am wrong. I don't want opinions, I prefer proven facts, if there are any.

PS. Just for the record, I know I am opening up a firestorm of rejection and assault. I am not trying to mock anyone, I would just really like to know the facts. For the sake of discussion, please be respectful.

And before you respond, I asked this question in the Science and the Gay and Lesbian sections also, just as it is asked here. I am curious to compare the responses.

  • Christians, don't you just love it when...?

people give you 10 points in order to rant against your response to their question? The phrase "The bit dog hollers the loudest." comes to mind.
