  • What are some mellow upright pianos?

I'm looking to buy a new piano, because my old one (Pearl River) is way too bright and damper pedal makes it sound like banshee (I'm not interested in repair/voicing; I can get a deal with a new piano by trading this one in).

Since I play a lot of Chopin and the like (not really into modern stuff), I'm looking for an upright piano with a warm, rich tone to really bring out the harmonies and express the subtleties that this music deserves.

I was already recommended a Yamaha U3, any other suggestions? I know that a Steinway sounds great, but I can't afford that, so please don't suggest something obvious and expensive lol

  • What do you think are some of the best aesthetic accomplishments of religion?

I am an atheist, I reject the proposition that a god exists, and I mostly dislike religious institutions, but I can't deny that many aesthetic beauties have arisen and/or become popular because of religion. Personally my favorites are the music of Bach, and Gothic architecture. How about you?

  • How fast does weed smoke dissipate? Does the smoke smell on clothing?

If I am smoking some marijuana in a large, open forest and constantly walking (at a relaxing pace), does the smoke smell go away very quickly from the area? And will the smell stick to my clothes?

  • Why do you think theists maintain faith?

I am an atheist, and I'm wondering why theists maintain whatever faith they have in whatever god the have it in despite the lack of evidence or logic to support their religion. Is it because of sheer will that they dismiss all the credible arguments that effectively disintegrate their religious dogma? Do they see us atheists as monsters? I'm really confused, because your perception of the world and sense of freedom is so much better without a god breathing down your neck. Is it because of simple ignorance that they're not aware of all the discrepancies and fallacies in their faith? I do not wish to anger anyone, and I am not angry myself, just curious.

  • Will a small sulfuric acid burn heal?

Yesterday my nose accidentally came in contact with sulfuric acid. Someone labelled a bottle wrong as hydrochloric acid when it was actually sulfuric acid. I was naturally surprised when I couldn't detect the signature odor of HCl when I wafted the bottle, and my shake hands brought the bottle too close to my nose, and just a bit of the rim of the bottle touched my nose. There was a very small amount of H2SO4 there because I could feel the sting right away. I immediately immersed my nose in water for around ten minutes, but it still stung for a while. A day later, it looks like I have a 5mm long and 3mm long burn on my nose (the outermost layer(s) of skin are gone) but it doesn't burn anymore. Will this burn heal? Or will I be left with some sort of scar? And I think the sulfuric acid concentration was high, around 19M.

  • How to calculate proton concentration in an acid?

  • Can dilute hydrochloric acid help acne?

I have some strong HCl (aq) which I can easily dilute with water. I've heard rumors that by putting a dilute solution of this can help kill the bacteria that causes acne by forcibly fighting it off your face. If this is true, to what pH or what concentration should I dilute it and how much do I apply?

  • How to tell your Catholic parents you do not believe in God?

I've been raised as a Catholic my whole life with all the sacraments and teachings, but I never really believed in God. When I was little, I thought it was normal and just tried to convince myself that there is a God but it never really worked. Now with my age I want to convert to Buddhism. I've studied it, and the moral and ethical values are the same as the Christian ones, but there is no one God, and there is only energy in the universe driving life. This I believe in much more than Jesus dying on a cross, opening gates in heaven and letting our souls in. This isn't some kind of phase, like I said, I never really believed in God. I think that as long as you are a good person your religion is not important and if there is a God, He'll accept you for who you are, as long as you leave a positive mark on earth. I've already told my dad (who's a stronger believer than my mom), he says that he accepts it, but he still tries to force me to reconvert. He makes me go to church with him, tells me to read the bible, tells me to pray. I know he only wants the best for me but my path is not the same path that he had, and the rest of my family had.He also told me not to tell anyone for some reason, but I think I should. It's who I am and I'm old enough not to make such a decision blindly. If you find grace and purpose with God that's good and I feel happy for you, but I don't, and I can't, so I don't think you should force it on someone. What should I do? I really want to get this off my chest and live the way I know would be better but at the same time I'm scared of my family's reaction?

  • Can I copyright my musical compositions just by putting the (c) symbol and then my name?

I'd like to sell my piano compositions to people but obviously I want to copyright it so they don't claim it or copy it and all that. If I simply put the copyright symbol followed by my name and the year at the bottom of the page, is that enough to protect my works?

  • What is one european version of Cinderella?

Can anyone please tell me a story SIMILAR to the Disney american Cinderella that's told in Europe? I don't want a story that's exactly the same as Disney's Cinderella just translated into a different language, I need to know an original story from Europe that has a similar plot. It doesn't matter if there is magic or not or if it actually happened or not. Thanks :)

  • Is my penis length average or not?

Hi I just turned 14 and when my penis is erect, it's 16.5 cm in length. This is NOT like those other questions where people ask if 10 inches is normal and they're like 13 so please answer seriously. I've re-measured a couple of times and it's always 16.5 cm from base to tip. So is this good?

  • Interesting Math Question! Proves that humans are smarter than computers?

Alright so a few days ago I thought of this:

Choose ANY number in the universe

    ...

Now tell me how you arrived at this number. Get it?

Since you could choose any number in the universe, what were the chances?

My opinion is that humans have the ability to think. We have favorite numbers, Numbers of importance and other biases. Now what if you asked a computer this? Computers don't have favorite numbers or biases, they perceive math as black and white, 2+2=4 and that's all that matters to them. When faced with chance, they have their probability like choose 1 in 10 = 10% chance. Do you think they could give an answer?

  • Oblivion mod help on Windows 7?

Alright so one day I made this mod that took me a long time for oblivion; it was awesome. So I played oblivion with it until I had to format my hard drive because I got Windows 7 Ultimate. I realized that Windows 7 gives you a lot of grief when you try to install stuff so I disabled the User account control thing so I wouldn't get that damn message whenever I did anything and so no complications with intstalling oblivion would happen and none did. So I installed Oblivion and it plays fine, but the mods don't; they aren't there. Just to make sure I installed the construction set and it recognized the mod from the data folder and it had all of the modded things in there! So basically Oblivion recognizes the mod, no error messages, game plays fine, you can even use the construction set to check if all the new items are in there, but the stuff dosen't show up in game. Does anyone have a solution to this?

  • What is a good Chopin piece for a young teen to learn?

I'm 14 and I really like Chopin. I'm level 6 and I learned "raindrops" but this the only Chopin piece I'm really good at. Does anyone have any recommendations for me to learn (I can't play things like "Revolutionary Etude" or "Fantasie

    Impromptu" though.)?

  • How do I say no to this person?

My aunt Laura wants to take me camping this summer. Personally, I really don't like it. Flies, Spiders, mosquitoes, raccoons, I don't like swimming, I'm going with some other kids and I'm a little fat and they are really fit... (ahem) My aunt is a really nice person but she has a bit of a temper. How can I say no to her without making her really angry at me? You may be thinking that it would be good for me to go with her and you may put an answer like "Say yes instead! it'll be good for you!" But I plan to exercise a lot this summer privately so I can stop embarrasing myself every year. The bottom line is I hate camping and I REALLY do not want to go.

    ...help?...
