Back Numbness?
About a year and a half ago I had a riding accident and injured my back. I didn't have a scan or anything, the doctor just said it was bruised.
I've had back pain on and off since then, but for nearly a week now I've had a tingling sensation and near complete numbness in one area of my back. It is on the left side around my bra strap. It feels like its itching aswell but obviously I can't 'itch' it because its numb? It's a bizarre feeling but I am actually in alot of pain and discomfort. I wake up in the night very uncomfortable, I work in an office and sit down alot and it can become very uncomfortable then.. So much so that I actually cant keep still, I'll walk around, lay on the floor, stand up at my desk and it's disrupting my work.
Can anyone suggest what this could be?
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management7 years agoDaily contacts smudge?
I got fitted for contacts yesterday, and I have done what my optician told me to do in regards to putting in/taking out, length of time I should wear them etc.. I've had them in for around 5 hours, in the past hour they have started to go abit smudgey.. Like when you get a bit of goop floating in your eye. When I blink it moves about, I can close my eyes and rub my eyelid and it will disappear for awhile but will come back. It's mainly in one eye, and it's the eye that has a weaker lense than it should (didn't have my strength in stock, optician said it will be fine for the week trial and hes ordered some in).
Is there any way I can stop the smudgey gloop? Are my eyes too dry? Should I get some eye drops? :)
2 AnswersOptical8 years agoBack Ache after accident?
At the beginning of the year I had an accident on my horse. I fell off and landed on the top of my back and had some bad bruising (there were golf ball sized swellings on my back). I of course went to the doctors but they only done a simple examination (no xrays, just felt my spine).
It's been months now and I'm still having trouble with my back. It's not agony, it's uncomfortable, like a constant ache. It's worse when I'm at work sitting at my desk all day (but does ache after any sitting) driving over half an hour and when I'm riding long distances. I'm constantly moving positions, I take painkillers when the ache is constantly nagging but generally doesn't do much.
I don't know whether to go to the doctors or not. I'm only 20 years old, but I know that doctors don't want to 'waste' their time with the millions of people with back problems. Can someone advise on what I can do?
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management8 years agoWhat do I do? I feel lost and alone.?
I've been with my boyfriend for nearly 3 years now, and I moved in with him just over a year ago.
We were fine, a young couple in love. I appear to have matured over the past few months, and he appears to have not.
I constantly feel lost, alone. I left my family and moved an hour away to move in with him and his parents so we could spend more time together. I left all my friends, everything I knew, the safety of family, and now I feel alone.
I haven't made any friends around here, and having a boyfriend who point blank refuses to spend an evening with me is driving me insane. He recently got a new job where he would now have weekends off, as do I. I thought it was fantastic, at last we could spend time together.. But in all honesty its made it worse. Now I see him for an hour or so after work before hes off to bed (he starts at 6am), and he wants to spend his weekends with his friends. We have the same argument, over and over, I ask him to spend a saturday or sunday with me, he complains endlessly, saying he wants to go banger racing with his friends, or makes up an even more ridiculous excuse as he did this weekend.. I invited him to come to my nans with me, eat some lunch and then meet my step dad.. He refused, and went on to say he couldn't be with bothered for the car journey, and that he wanted to play in the snow. Yes, he would rather play in the snow with his friends than spend time with me.
Am I going insane, or have I gave up everything for a guy who doesn't even appreciate me one bit?
Thing is, I love him, I'd be lost without him as I've giving everything up for him, I hardly talk to my friends anymore as they are miles away.. I have a full time job here, a horse (which I got to kill some lonely time with..), I don't want to give everything up, I love my job and the joy my horse brings and his parents.. But how can I cope when I'm not getting the love I need? I have dreams of cheating, I thrive when guys give me attention because I don't get enough from him..
But what do I do? Do I give him a final ultimatum, possibly give everything up, my job, my horse.. Or stay with him in the hope it can be fixed? Someone please help me, I need advice.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoMy mum cant lose weight?
My mum has hyperthyroidism and started her menopause a few years ago. She's not overly fat, but she is carrying extra weight around her stomach, hips and thighs, to the extent that after a small meal her stomach bloats out and she looks pregnant. Her stomach is quite firm as well.
I do believe she's been to the doctors before, but they won't do anything as she's not obese.
It's been going on for ages, and now she hardly eats anything but she won't drop weight. She works long shifts and struggles to find time to exercise.
Does anyone know what could be happening?
10 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoHorse loaning insurance?
I'm thinking about loaning a horse off a woman at work, and she doesn't have her horse insured. Would I be okay with just riders only insurance or do I have to get the horse insured even though he wasn't originally?
1 AnswerHorses9 years agoAdult dog 'chinning' puppy?
An We have an 8 year old staffy x boxer, and around a month or two ago we lost our other dog suddenly due to illness. Oscar, our staffy x, wasn't coping so well with the loss, and so we decided to get him another doggy friend. We knew he didn't like other adult dogs in the house, so we decided to get a puppy. We got a 9 week old staffy x American boxer called Max, and its been a week now and Oscars slowly getting used to Max. Max is incredibly bitey, and Oscars very much 'bark worse than bite', and although Oscar sounds incredibly annoyed when Max starts a game up with him, he does usually play along. What's happening though, is that Oscar is flipping Max over with his chin and then resting his chin on max for a few seconds.. he can repeat this over and over again until he'll accidently knock max abit hard or they tire. When Oscar starts 'chinning' max, max will start rolling over automatically when in play.. is this a sign of dominance or is it something I need to keep an eye on?
5 AnswersDogs9 years agoWhat's the correct PSI for my tyres?
I have a Toyota Yaris T reg (1999) 1litre with 14 inch tyres. I currently have their psi at 33, but I'm just wondering if this is right, and if not, what is the correct psi for my car/tyres?
9 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoCar struggles to change certain gears?
I have a Toyota Yaris T reg, it's only done 37,000 miles and I've only had it a few months (its my first car).. It will sometimes drive absolutely fine, with no problems what so ever.. But sometimes I can have trouble with the gears. When I put it into third, sometimes the gear will only go half in, so I pretty much stay at the same speed even though my foot is all the way down.. But if I try again with third, it'll just slip all the way in, and drive fine. And I also have trouble with reverse; It sometimes just won't go in, unless I put it in neutral, release the clutch and try again.. I'm not sure what could be causing these problems, as they only sometimes happen. Anyone got any ideas?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoAm I too young for Intraocular Lenses?
I am 19 years old and have Myopia (shortsightedness). I was first considering laser eye surgery, but since finding out about implantable lenses, I'd much prefer the lenses as they are reversible and appear safer. I am just wondering if at 19 years old, I am too young for this surgery, as I see that mainly people 50+ receive this surgery due to cataracts etc. Am I too young? Or is it just people my age tend to go for laser eye surgery?
3 AnswersOptical9 years agoCat Treats - Dreamies or Ham?
I used to buy ham especially for my cat, as he used to have a slice a day as a treat (he is very spoilt..). I then went round my sisters and found out that her cats LOVE cat treats, so I went out and bought my cat a packet of Cheese Dreamies, and he does seem very interested in them, complete with dribbling on my hand while I'm trying to shake a few nuggets out.. I have switched him to Dreamies now, and don't buy him any ham (although he still tries getting in the fridge for his beloved ham), but after doing some research I am concerned that Dreamies are probably much worse for him than (cheap) ham, as they contain a high number of grain. Should I continue him on Dreamies and just make sure I limit him to 8 nuggets a day like the packet says, or should I go back to ham?
