  • Can I ask the naysayers of global warming...?

why is it that you feel so strongly about this issue?

If you review the US EPA Global Warming website ( http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/wycd/home.html ) they recommend a number of simple, common sense approaches to reducing your carbon footprint. These conservation measures not only help the environment, but they also put money in your pocket. Why not insulate your house? Drive a more fuel efficient car? Use compact flourescent lightbulbs? Etc. I don't understand why anybody objects to this.

  • Do they still allow hunting in Australia and the UK?

And if so, how do hunters get their guns? I understand that the gun laws in both countries are very strict. Which types of guns can you have, and which are illegal?

  • What will democrats do with no republicans to blame for their actions?

For 8 years they have been blaming Bush for things he clearly had no control over. We all know that congress has much more power than the president in terms of the economy. The democrats voted for the war in Iraq. They are more responsible than Bush for the current state of america, but they had Bush to blame.

Now what? OMG! They can't blame Obama. What will they do?

  • Is a complete ban on guns in the US really a good idea?

Chicago has had a ban on handgun ownership for 29 years. Please consider the following hypothetical scenario.

A woman alone in a parking garage at night coming home from her shift at the hospital at 2:00 am. Halfway between the car and the elevator she hears a noise. A large man steps out from behind a car about 20 feet away. She has several options, I'd like your opinion on the best:

1 - try to run to safety. If she gets to the elevator she still has to wait for it to open. If she runs for her car she needs to get the door open.

2- Take the man on in hand to hand combat. Given the relative difference in size and strength, well you know.

3- pull her illegal (since Chicago has seen fit to ban her from carrying legally) handgun, point it at the guy, and slowly tell him to back off, while slowly moving away from him. No shots fired, woman scared and shaken, but unhurt, lives to tell her tale, but not to the police for then she would be arrested and convicted of carrying an illegal handgun. The police never investigate, and the guy rapes another woman the next night.

Tell me, how do you like gun bans now?

  • Who becomes president if something happens to the President Elect?

I know the order for replacement of a sitting President. Vice President, then Speaker of the House. But what if something happens to the president elect, in this case Obama? Does it go to Biden, or back for a new election, or does Bush stay in office?
