My mother lives in a coastal area on the Florida Gulf Coast. (Gulf County Florida to be exact. Her house is 2 blocks off of Hwy. 98.) Her flood insurance is crazy expensive. She lives within 1000 ft. of the bay, but not on the beach or directly on any body of water. Her policy is for $250,000 property coverage and $100,000 on the contents. Her premium just went up to $2250 per year. She is 65 and retired on a fixed income.

Does anyone have any suggestions for finding a reduced rate? I am trying to help her, but I live much farther inland and have no experience with flood insurance requirements.

We used to have a really good Chinese restaurant here that served a dish the owner called Peanut Chicken. It wasn't like a lot of Peanut chicken dishes where you make a peanut satay sauce that you dip fried chicken in...it was cut up pieces of boneless chicken that was stir-fried or sauteed in a sauce that had a peanutty flavor and texture. The finished chicken was heavenly... If anyone has a recipe they would like to share with my I would be grateful!

I have an idea for a business, and my husband and I have been debating if my business model would work.

I want to start a home based business for stay at home moms ( or anyone interested for that matter) that sells organic/natural personal care products. (Facial/skin care, body care, hair care.) The company that will manufacture these products for me is super ethical.

The products would be sold in home demonstrations, like a spa party. Part of the demonstration would be educating women about the benefits of living the organic lifestyle, and how it can be incorporated into anyones life.

My husband and I agree up to this point.

He says no one will want to do this unless it is a multilevel marketing business where they can earn commission on what people they recruit sell.

I don't want to use a multi level marketing strategy. I have done Mary kay and still have a very bad taste in my mouth from my experience. I want to give end of year incentives based on sales and recruiting.

I want to take my husband on a cruise for his 40th birthday. I want to leave sometime in June. I know this is like super last minute, but I was planning a big surprise 40th birthday bash, and he told me last week he hoped I wasnt going to do that. YIKES! So I cancelled the big party, but still want his birthday to be really special and loves to cruise. I am looking for a source for a great deal.

My husband and I have been married for 6 years. My husbands son from his first marriage visits us every other weekend and for longer periods during vacations. I have two children and all of the children are close in age.

The problem? My children are very well behaved. (They are kids...dont get me wrong. They are not perfect. But My kids are 14 and 8, and I have yet to have a note home from school about their behavior and am asked often what I did to get such good children.) My stepson is the opposite. He lies, refuses to follow simple family rules and is constantly a problem. Its not just with us...his mother is at a loss and does not know how to handle him.

I just dont know what to do anymore. I am beginning to resent the time that he is here, because I know all of my time will be spent dealing with him and not enjoying the time we have with all of the kids.

Any helpful advice is welcome. Before you ask...we spend loads of quality time with the kids. He isnt after attention.
