Let s say you gave your child an instrument when he was little, and then, as an adult, he gave the instrument to a niece as a gift. How would you feel.

I received notice that my alma mater was in danger of closing due to low funds and the closing due to COVID-19. I wanted to help them raise funds, so I created a GoFundMe campaign for them. Because of tax-deductible concerns, someone asked me to end the fundraiser. If I choose not to, and I make sure each cent of the money goes to the school, what can they do to stop me?

About 2 weeks after getting a tune-up for my 2002 Acura TL, I noticed that, out of nowhere, my car started shaking whenever it was in drive, and then the warning, check engine, and VSA lights came on all at once. I have not been in any accidents, and I try to take good care of my car. What could be wrong with my care, and is this going to be an expensive fix?

So, yesterday, when I was listening to my messages when I came home from work, I got one from my father about how he was just about to have major surgery on his heart to remove blockage--CABG. He told me to call my uncle. I panicked and tried looking for my uncle's number, but I couldn't find it. While I was in a frenzy, my wife noticed that an envelope for her was torn. She kept asking what happened to it while I was searching for the number (I already told her about my father). Because I was too focused on the number to answer, she said "I don't need your attitude; I had a bad day." I did not know what she meant about attitude since I was not even talking to her. She then said that she was just joking about the envelope. After I came over my shock, I became very angry with her. I went for a walk, and I sent her a text message saying that she went too far this time (she usually gets snappy and, occasionally, verbally abusive when she is in a mood) and that my father could have been dead when she was focusing on an envelope or accusing me of a bad attitude. I told her that with my father having major surgery, who cares if she had a bad day. When she told me of the hard time she was having at work, I told her that I was no longer accepting excuses and that she needs to control her tongue. All things considered, was I too hard on her, or no?

I don't expect any of you to forgive me, but I am sorry.

I just don't understand it. I know a lot of German-Americans. The guys are cool or at least decent. The thinner women are very nice. Why is it that nearly all overweight/obese women of German heritage give me the cold shoulder? Even their faces are mean. This is not a rant; it is an observation I am trying to make sense of?

Do you also cross yourself when crossing a Lutheran, Episcopalian, or Protestant church. If not, why not?

I am leaving a church for several reasons, but the straw was when I had written a blog in which no names or locations were used. It was very bold and harsh--accusing a congregant of wrongdoing against someone who recently died. Even though I wrote a retraction to it, my now former pastor basically gave me an ultimatum: submit all blogs to him for his theological review (among other things) or face excommunication. This is a pastor with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Does this pastor have the divine authority to tell an adult what to write in his own blogs?
