Question about American medical system?
If you recieve a surgery and the doctor leaves something inside of you that shouldn't have been (scalpel or sponge for example) is the removal at the doctor's expense or the patient?
This happened to a friend of mine but because we are Canadian, he didn't have to pay for the first surgery let alone the removal.
2 AnswersMedicine3 months agoIs my anxiety out of control?
I recently got out of two week isolation after recovering from surgery (I had to travel) and I spent the entire time obsessing completely over the corona virus. I was too scared to touch cans or anything from ‘outside’ because they might have the virus on them... this meant I barely ate or drank. I was (still am) constantly washing my hands before touching my face (and if I forgot, I’d sanitize my face). I’m experiencing all kinds of physical symptoms and now I have a mini panic attack when my roommate (who has finally returned home) as much as sneezes. The chemicals I use to sanitize everything make it hard to breath and I obsess over every little bodily sensation. It’s making me physically sick and I’m losing weight and I’m probably very dehydrated. What should I do? I feel so out of control and scared.
1 AnswerInfectious Diseases4 months agoPost Surgery Temp: 11 days later?
My temperature is usually 36.6 when I wake up and at one point in the day it’ll go all the way up to 37.2. It’s been 11 days since I had surgery (anxiety levels are currently extremely high and my apartment is not cool). It’s been lower more often lately, sometimes around 37 for longer periods of time but it still goes up to 37.2 sometimes. Should I be concerned?

A mate and I were having a debate about this, trying to figure it out and we figured we'd ask which would cost more to add to a finished house.
7 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling6 months agoWhat happens when a 7 year old is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and gets an insulin pump?
I’m writing a story and I know how diabetes works, I have it but what happens when a child is diagnosed. Do they stay in the hospital, meet with a dietitian and if they have a family member with experience with children with diabetes, can the child go home sooner?
7 AnswersDiabetes9 months agoRhetorical question about US health care?
Let’s say someone had a surgery and the doctor did something wrong and it was obvious the doctor screwed up and a second surgery was required to fix the doctors mistake, who pays for the second surgery. (Removing the wrong kidney, leaving the scalpel inside... a major but obvious mistake... yes, I know the second one is unlikely) I’ve always been curious as to this. What would happen
1 AnswerInjuries1 year agoWhat is being done in the US to test people for coronavirus if they don’t have insurance? ?
Seriously, they can’t have infected people running around foot loose and fancy free because they can’t afford testing.
