  • Skyrim fans, video game suggestions, please?

My husband's birthday is coming up, and I'd like to get him a new game for his PS3, but I'm clueless about games. His favorite right now is Skyrim, he plays that all the time. He also has Transformers:Fall of Cybertron. Until recently he was playing Star Trek Online and City of Heroes. I THINK he was into World of Warcraft for awhile and he used to play a game called Morrowind. those are the only games of his by name I can think of that I'm familiar with. Based on these, can anyone give me a suggestion for a PS3 game he might like?

  • what is the Schlitterbauhns waterpark in galveston like?

I'm going with my family next week on vacation to Galveston and we'd like to go there. Is it anything like the big one in New Braunfels near San Antonio? Or is it much smaller?, Should I get a two day pass or will a one day pass suffice?

  • How much would it cost for my Air Force husband to rent a laptop for 6 weeks?

My husband is going to the NCO Academy in Biloxi, MS for six weeks in August and he can't take our laptop computer because I'll be needing it, but while it's not an absolute necessity for him to have one there, it will make his life MUCH easier, as opposed to spending almost all his time in the library to do homework and whatnot. Plus, we'd like to be able to do webcam chat while he's gone.

Are there any places that give special deals for renting computers to military personnel? There's a Rent-A-Center in Biloxi, would that be a good place and does anyone know the cost of renting their laptops?

  • Military personnel, how much less was your paycheck this round?

My husband's an E-6 with 13, almost 14, years in, and his bring home this cycle was about $15 less than normal. We had our second baby in August, so I'm thinking about having him go ahead and change his withholding information to claim another dependent now that the tax year is over.

  • Is anyone having trouble with their facebook app on iphone?

I have the iphone 4 and never had any trouble with my FB app until a few days ago when I updated the app. Since then I have not been able to bring up FB on my phone. I hit the icon, a blank screen with the blue FB bar at the top comes up, as if it's trying to load, then, within 2 seconds, the screen disappears and returns to my home screen. I was thinking it might just be a glitch with FB that would be fixed soon, but that hasn't happened. I've tried deleting the app and re-downloading it a couple of times now, but I'm still getting the same results. Could this be a problem with my iphone or is it just a bad app? Any ideas of what I can do?

  • Are there ANY circumstances under which the Catholic Church supports birth control or sterilization surgery?

What if the woman has a medical condition that makes pregnancy a danger to her life or health? What if she has to be on medication that would be unsafe for an unborn baby? Or what if one spouse has a strong likelihood of passing a disease/genetic defect to an offspring? Or what if a couple's financial situation is so bad they literally cannot afford to feed another mouth? Does the church offer to help support the potential children in those cases so the couple does not have to commit the sin of preventing pregnancy? Does the church still see birth control or sterilization a sin in such circumstances? I'm just curious.

  • What do you think about this store refusing to let a pregnant woman use their restroom?

Did she over react? Was the store unreasonable or within their rights to refuse her?

  • Question for homeschooling parents?

As a former homeschooled student myself, I'm aware that most homeschooling parents use things such as video correspondence, online programs, etc to teach their children, but if it was within your means to pay for private tutors to teach your child at home rather than doing it yourself, is that something you would want to do or do you prefer to be solely in charge of over seeing your child's home education? Also, what do you think of people who are skeptical of the ability of parents to give their children a proper education at home on the basis that the parent is not a "qualified" teacher, i.e., does not hold teaching credentials? I'm just curious.

  • How much longer until we can get Maalox and Mylanta again?

This recall on so many stupid antacids has left the pharmacy shelves everywhere bare just when I need them most! I'm 18 weeks pregnant and need that relief from acid reflux. I swore by maximum strength Maalox when I was pregnant with my first baby, and now I'm stuck with all this nasty tasting store brand crap that just isn't the same. Sometimes I'll take a generic version of Pepcid Complete (since that's apparently on hold too!) with one 1000 mg Tums, and it'll help after a bit, but I so miss the instant relief and good taste of cherry Maalox or mint Mylanta! Are there any reports of when all this stuff can be expected to be available again?

  • Parents, under what circumstances would you get rid of a pet against your child's wishes?

Of course I can think of some top reasons why most people would feel they had no choice but to get rid of a pet:

1.) If it became dangerous, like if it attacked one of the children without provocation.

2.) If you absolutely had to move some place where you couldn't take it with you

3.) If someone in the house had extreme allergies to the pet that couldn't be controlled and it was making the family member miserable.

But are there any other reasons why you would get rid of a pet even if it upset your children?

For example what if the pet was simply a major nuisance, i.e., destructive, chewing/tearing things up, difficult to house break, etc?

Is there a point at which you would say it was not worth bothering with anymore even if your kids didn't want it to go?

Or would you suck it up and deal with it however you had to because you wouldn't want to hurt your children?

Or what if you got the pet on the promise from your kids that it would be THEIR responsibility to care for it, but they got lazy with it leaving you to do the work?

Would you care for it anyway or would you make good on that threat/promise parents always make to get rid of the child's pet if he/she doesn't take care of it?

If for some reason you did have to get rid of a pet your kids loved for whatever reason, how would you explain it to them and make them understand?
