While going through family photos, I found a school photo of my grandmother, when she was a senior in high school. However, on the green paper folder that the photo came in, there was an embossed Swastika.

I don't know what exact year this was, but I know it was in the mid-to-late 40s.

I'm just confused as to why they'd use a swastika like that, at a Catholic school?

I'm having the hardest time trying to remember a movie character.

I keep picturing this woman in her 40s maybe, with severe black hair, pale skin, red lipstick. I picture her being an office worker maybe, accepting or handing folders to someone. She wears a suit I think. Very professional.

I picture her smiling with her mouth closed, maybe looking a bit like:

Any ideas? I know I'm kind of grasping at straws here.

See, I live in the state of Virginia. And in this state, the school systems are divided by county. The Loudoun County schools all start and end at the same time, and so on.

But apparently that's not the same in all states. And I was just wondering, what other states do that, and what ones don't?

I tried purple kool-aid, and it didn't do anything, not even a tint. I already bleached my hair where I want the purple, but it still didn't show up.

I know about Manic Panic and Punky Color, but I can't find those around me. Is there another inexpensive semi-permanent purple hair dye?

The thing is, I've realized something in being a teenager, and watching other teenagers -- we're obsessed with expressing ourselves.

Fake or real tattoos, piercings, hair dye, stickers, logos, band t-shirts - it seems like everything we wear, buy, or try to be has something to do with us expressing ourselves.

I've noticed it in myself, this want of self-expression. And I'm wondering... Does it ever go away, when you get older? You don't see adults acting like teens do about self-expression, usually. And what do you think causes teenagers to be so obsessed with expressing ourselves?
