  • Has anybody had a similar experience?

I've always been more connected to the idea of Satan as being a sort of Promethean character (giving humans knowledge, both good and bad, and subsequently being punished for it), but in truth I'm just looking for answers. I don't subscribe to any one specific Left Hand Path religion because I tend to create my own religious and spiritual ideas from mixing elements of different religions and adding in a little of my own opinions, preferences and experiences. That said, I'm really not a Satanist, if I had to describe my spiritual beliefs with a label I'd say I'm an explorer of the occult.

Long story short: I entered a meditation session (in a bathroom at school), imagined myself in my bedroom which transformed into a dungeon, sat across from an empty chair in said dungeon (which was only lit by candles), got out of my body to walk around the table and I saw myself; at this point I had the feeling that some being occupied the other chair; the lights went out and when they came back on a robed guy was sitting in the chair. Right at this moment (I think) my eyes started feeling really twitchy and I fell backwards through my chair and ended up looking up through the bottom of the table at the robed guy's face. At this point I freaked out, sat back in the chair, and walked out of the room to find that I was standing on a spire surrounded by whirling reddish-brown clouds for as far as I could see. (I couldn't see anything below me). Has anyone experienced anything similar?

  • What is the name of this song?

It's got kind of a techno feel except it's really dark (it sounds like it's from a horror game or something), but it's got sections where its sounds like someone's yelling "OW! OW! OW!" and it sounds like something's snarling in the background at other points along with someone breathing heavily into a microphone. I remembered hearing it on a video where the description said something about Red Army or something like that, except none of the Red Army games have any song like this in their soundtrack (at least, not officially). I don't even know it that's the song the description was referring to since that video had a few other music clips, but I'm just trying to find out what this song is. I'm sorry I can't be more descriptive but the song doesn't have any lyrics besides what I just mentioned; can anyone help me out?

And I can't find the video anymore so unfortunately I can't show you what I'm talking about.

  • What does the drop on Intimidator 305 feel like?

I read in a TR somewhere (I think it was on Ultimate Rollercoaster, or on the Rollercoaster Talk group here on Yahoo! Groups) that to the reviewer, the drop felt like the person was actually going upside down and that they were about to fall out. Can anyone who's been on I305 tell me what the drop felt like the first time you rode it, and whether or not it's a good ride for a guy who rode S:ROS at Six Flags America last year and got the living sh!t scared out of him?

  • Name That Video Game Quote!?

Here are three. I want you to state the game it's from, and which character says it. Ready?

    1. Farmer, flee you farm, because it belongs now to your cattle!

2.Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.

    3. You have died of dysentery.

To win this, you have to correctly name the video game and character source of ALL 3 quotes.

  • What makes a good secret "in plain sight" entrance to an underground city?

I'm working on making a video game set in the underground city of Eden, built in the US in the 1960s during the cold war as both a shelter from possible nuclear war, and because the city's founder Fred Graham (a mashup of Billy Graham and Fred Phelps, two major Christian fundamentalists) thought the US was a satanic country and decided to build his own Kingdom of God. I'm putting two questions out here.

    1. What should the entrance to the city look like? (Be creative here. I need it to embody Father Graham's mission of escaping "Sodom" and building "Paradise". Not a church either, something more...I hate to compare it to real games out there, but kinda like Bioshock's lighthouse entrance to Rapture, it doesn't really connect with the city it serves in any symbolic way.) The city is in the middle of the Nevada desert, in case that helps.

2: What music should be playing inside this secret entrance? I wanted some sort of old music (I'd like it to be from 1900-late 1930s time period) that people would have listened to while they wait to enter Eden.

  • Does an amusement park ride like this exist?

I'm thinking of a wave-swinger style ride, where people sit in seats connected to a spinning wheel by arms, and the wheel spins until the cars are parallel to the ground, but then the wheel tilts 90 degrees so the cars are swinging in a vertical loop. Does any ride like this exist?

  • Why don't parks let you film coasters?

Like, if I wanted to film a friend's reaction, or just to capture the moments.....cause not all coasters have on-board video, and I like front-view POVs. But, if you're using something like a tight-locking wrist strap, or some other security device, why do they still not let you film? I know not all parks are like this, but in general, why do they care so much?

  • How could I effectively study the effects of indefinite extended isolation on humans?

I thought about making a mock-up of a town underground, and the sealing it off for 20 years. Or alternatively, I could just shut a group of people in a house for 20 or more years; but, how would I get my study funded? And how could I make it more.....ethical?

  • Solve this riddle! First right answer gets the points!?

Tommy was shot and killed, but before he died, he shot and killed the man who killed him. Only one bullet was fired. How is this possible?

  • Did we REALLY nominate a former hateful bully to be President?

If I remember correctly, when spoiled rich brat Mitt Romney was attending a private High School, he once assaulted a fellow pupil and cut his hair, simply because he thought boys shouldn't have long hair.

People, what the hell have we become? When we're willing to elect a moralistic bully who shoves his ideas down people's throats, who values conformity above all other things, and who hates gays? Have you not yet learned your lesson? BE ACCEPTING. DON'T VOTE FOR BULLIES.

    Ron Paul 2016?....maybe?.....no?.....meh

  • Have you heard the rumors of the new Robin movie?

I haven't seen TDKR yet, and I know that the Nolans aren't doing another Batman film, but I heard some rumors that someone's making a movie with Robin and the Riddler, using the Tim Drake version of Robin. Has anyone else heard of this?

  • what town is this (this is a real town)?

My friend and I were talking about the Silent Hill town, and I asked him if there were any weird/creepy towns like that, that actually existed. He told me about a town somewhere in New Hampshire where the following happened.

-People have disappeared from the town, and re-appear up to a month later; some of these people were unable to speak.

-Women would go on "vacations" to various buildings; some of them would later be found dead.

-The corpses of two young boys, and a corpse of a man, were found in the basement of someone's house in steamer trunks. Upon examination, the people were found to have died in the period from about 1900 to 1912. The homeowner had no idea how they got there (they were found in a concrete wall).

-A young boy was reportedly "pulled into a well" by what appeared to be a boy around his age (five years old). When the father of the child rushed to the well, he saw that the only person down there was his son.

-Citizens have found strange symbols painted in red on their homes. Surveillance cameras were installed to catch the vandals, but the footage that would have shown the criminals in the act was so distorted that it was of no use to the police, although in the audio several of the police officers who viewed the tape swore under oath that they heard several voices speaking "gibberish".

-Strange creatures resembling men with horse-like heads have been seen by both citizens, police, and the occasional tourist by an old school building near town.

If anyone has any idea what town this is, please let me know (and don't tell me it's not real, when I asked a relative who lived in NH about it he told me details exactly like what my friend told me, and she's never even met my friend.)

  • Have you ever had any "weird" things happen to you?

    Here are some of mine:

    1. Last night I was out driving in the country and suddenly the song "dust in the wind" came on over the radio; then the signal jumped to some other station with a callsign from Columbus, Ohio. We were in western Maryland. The guy on the radio was talking about how Jesus loved me more than I thought.

    2. During that same drive I thought I saw a hunchbacked guy running in the woods beside our car, and he was keeping pace with the car which was impossible because I was going about 65 mph. A while later we got to a railroad crossing, and right as we were about to go into it the bars came down, but no train came. As we were sitting there I clearly saw a guy run out into the road. To get a good look at him I turned on the high beams and I saw that his eyes were black.

    3. On a previous drive nearby, I was driving on a two-lane country road and right as I was going around a bend I saw a black Ford Mustang 1967 Fastback come roaring up behind me, and right when it looked like it was about to ram my car it vanished.

  • What's the best coaster at the three main theme parks around washington DC?

My favorites from each are as follows

BGW (I last went when I was little so I didn't actually ride any coasters, but I've seen some of them): Griffon (dive coaster), Alpengeist, and Verbolten (because of the drop track)

KD: Again, last time I went there I was still terrified of coasters, but I really want to go back and ride: Volcano: The Blast Coaster, Flight of Fear, Dominator, Intimidator 305

SFA: This is where I just recently (in September) got rid of my fear of coasters, my rankings from best to worst:

    1. Tough choice, in terms of thrills I'd say Superman: Ride of Steel because it has amazing airtime

    2. Batwing: a so-so Vekoma Flying Dutchman, decent number of inversions but not very fast

    3. Joker's Jinx: a fast LIM launch coaster, a good thrill factor, but it gets slow from the exit out of the sidewinder to the drop into the helix

    4. Apocalypse: formerly Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America; it's okay, but it has too much head banging in the corkscrew. Solid theming, good soundtrack

    5. RoaR: a twister woodie, very rough, lots of tight turns, a good number of head choppers, in my opinion it's too short.

Mind Eraser wasn't open when I went, but from its appearance and POV videos I'd give it an eight out of ten, possibly a seven for uniqueness because it's the most common model of Vekoma SLC in the world.

  • Has anyone else seen a BioShock Infinite commercial on TV(around the DC area)?

I heard the song from the trailer, so I ran over to where my brother was watching TV and I saw a different version of the "Beast of America" trailer (without the Vox Populi guy sawing into the cop's head with a SkyHook and without that scene where Booker's hands are all burned and bloody.) Has anyone else seen this commercial?

  • What is a "high fidelity mannequin"? In a medical school sense?

I was doing a tour of a local medical school, and one of our group's guides was telling us about this new lab where they have "high-fi" mannequins, "med-fi" mannequins and "low-fi" mannequins. What are these?

  • What song is this, please?

It's a music video for Johnny Got His Gun (it's not The One by Metallica, it sounds like Chad Grey (Mudvayne) but I'm not totally sure.)

  • Why are people so judgmental?

So, I like to wear "bondage" pants (the pants with d-rings and rivets and straps on them), spiked bracelets, razorblade necklaces, all that. And one day, I'm with my mom and my aunt, and they're trying to get me to buy "normal" clothes. First off, who is anyone to say what's "normal"?

Anyway, at one point my aunt said that if she didn't know me and saw me in her neighborhood she'd call the cops on me. Is that idiotic, or what? Why do people hate "Goths" and why are some people so full of themselves?
