Many people I come across, in person or the Internet diagnose themselves with sevear illnesses, like bipolar, paranoia, OCD etc. my question is, why would you want to label yourself with mental illness and is this an illness in itself?

By the way I have a diagnosed mental illness, so I know the stigma attached to them. This isn't a dig at people who are generally ill.
