Hi. I am very much a animal lover and run a very small rescue service in Nottingham http://rattiemommysallcarerescue.webs.com/ I also have a few pets myself, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 10 rats, 10 mice and 3 rabbits. I work part time as a TA and then rest of my time is working on rescuing unwanted and mistreated pets.
Ferret with swollen limph nodes and losing weight rapidly?
Right this actualy started with one of my dogs, just swollen limph nodes under the jaw area. The one of my ferrets got it. My other ferret didnt have swollen limph nodes but started losing weight rapidly and looks dreadful. Distemper has been ruled out, bloods have been taken as has samples from the nodes and nothing has been found. A course of anti biotics was given and the ferrets glands went down. 3rd week in and both my male ferret and dog are back to sqaure one, glands are bigger than ever and my male ferret has lost 300g in just 4 days! My dogs nodes are that big now they middle of his throat. Bloods have been taken again today as before and still nothing showing. At the moment they are on preds and my dog is booked in for a biopsy tomorrow. There is no other symptoms except those above, swollen limph nodes under jaw and rapid weight loss (ferrets only, dog hasnt lost weight) I have tried googling away for over 2 weeks now, even called an expert in the USA and have come up with nothing. I am so worried about them..
13 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoCrested Geckos and lighting?
Do Crested Geckos HAVE to have a day light on them or can natural day/sun light be ok? I have a moonlight bulb fitting on there and have been told that is fine alone (25watts) but I am worried he/she needs more?

The reading inside the tank in the day reads 71F at night its dropping below 70F at night, this is with a heat pad underneath! Its summer here also, albeit a rubbish one. I cant open windows or doors in the room or the temp drops more. Any advice please?
2 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoWhat Is Proper Rat Care?
Im very saddened to see so many questions based on basic Rat care, so many lone rats.
So what is proper care? Pretty simple really. A good large cage, not a tank or hanster cage. Propper bedding, not wood shavings. Good diet. Plenty of hammocks and toys, and lots of attention and free range. Not difficult. if only people researched more before buying.
Please feel free to look at all my pictures in link below. It shows all my Rats and there cages, on free range time etc..

Take time to learn, fancy rats forum is great Linked in sources at bottom)
Caring for them properly is rewarding, and its what they need. Basic really.
Enjoy your ratties.

1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoResearching fish species goes along way.?
Ive read alot about Bettas on here and am shocked at how many ignorant answers there are. When people are asking about them there told bettas have to be alone as they fight and kill all other fish!! What utter rubbish and a little research on the fish goes along way. I Have a male betta who shares a tank with 2 mollies, 4 penguin tetras, guppies and cory pandas. He is a happy fish and hasnt even attempted to attack the other tank mates. Infact he loves sharing food with others at times.
Males are only agressive towards other male bettas, ok sometimes it can be a personality thing as in any other tyrpe of living thing and you may get a grumpy bully lol, but in general they are good community fish. You type these fish into search engine and read all you can, you will read the same. Also mine isnt a NON active fish. There is a very slight current in the water but he loves swimming about and is a healthy happy fish.
Please research and be considerate in answers.
