My hamster is not unattended, I am watching him all the time, but I have to keep getting him from chewing the carpet and get him fast, as far as chew toys, he has all of them, he will not have anything to do with them, like I said, I have tried everything, I don't like the though of him living his life in a cage...this place is hamster proofed, all I could do is remove the carpet.

He will chew a phone book, corners his is favorite,but at this rate I will have no carpet. I made him a place in a closet buying peices of carpet he can chew, that helped for awhile. He is a male, my last hamster was female, she chewed but not this much is ther anything I can do to defer this behavior? My expertise is dogs and cats, and chinchillas..I have only had 2 hamsters, and 2 guinea pigs.
