All of my birds pretty much maintain their beaks by themselves, they all have their own methods to file down their beaks to keep them a good healthy size, but my Quaker parrot worried me today.

I usually give her a bath, then she gets kind of grumpy and prefers to be in her cage after, that's when she preens and stuff, but this time I came back to the cage and she was rubbing her face on the bars of the cage and her beak looked like it had chipped in one spot and was worn down and peeling about halfway down the length of her beak down to the tip. She's been on my shoulder for about an hour now, so I've been getting a good look at it and noticed that the top half of her beak is a dark brown color (the normal color) and the rest is a lighter brown color. It resembles what your fingernails look like if they were dirty, kind of transparent, I can see light through the peeled bit near the tip but the darker brown color under where it's peeling at the middle.

Is this normal? She has a good diet, the recommended parrot food plus a fruit snack here and there. I know it'll grow back back I'm scared she'll chip off too much of it or her beak will become brittle. Help please?

So...I've been feeling depressed for ages now and I haven't been able to figure out why, but now I think I've figured it out. My best friend, I'll just call him "P", is a great guy. He's really nice, really sweet, caring, loving, strong, tough, and wants to be the best fighter in history. He tells me a lot, if not all of his secrets and I share with him a ot too. It turns out that we're practically like twins, we even call each other brothers. He says that he loves me like his brother, I do too, but last night, while me and him were just hanging out in a hotel room, we had to share a bed. It was dark and the only noise I heard was him breathing, and it made me smile... I came to the realization that I'm in love with him. I don't like him in a sexual way or anything like that (it's actually pretty gross to think of him in that way) but I really love him. My problem is, he's always talking about how he wants his dream girl. Even at this moment I'm trying to help him with this one girl he really likes and might like him. I know I couldn't turn him gay or anything like that. He knows I'm gay but thinks I love him like a brother too. Which...in a way I do but at the same time there are moments where I just wish we could hold each other forever. It's killing me that I have no one to talk to about these feelings, because he's my only real, true friend and obviously I can't tell him. So someone please tell me how to get the hurt to go away so I can have my "brother" and not want him as my love...

I've taken a few online quizzes and they all say I'm highly to severely depressed. I know they're not substitutes for a real diagnosis but I'm afraid to tell anyone because I don't want to sound like I'm just whining, or something. Anyways, for the past week or so I've been just kind of sad. For really no reason. I've been thinking that it could be my friend Courtney Nash dying (look her up. She's the 16 year old Florida girl that died because of an amoeba infection). But the more I think about that, the more I keep telling myself that death is just another part of life. So I'm pretty sure it's not that. Then I start to think that it's because I'm not really happy with who I am, a 17 year old gay boy living among redneck, southern baptists. Then my family will give me guilt trips over the dumbest stuff. My mother is ignoring me, basically. My dad is just bullying me. My first relationship turned out awful, he was just using me for...well...sex. And my friends are in a feud. Could it be that all of these things stacked up on each other have just taken such a toll on me that I don't want to live anymore? Don't worry, I don't think I have the guts to actually kill myself. I just want to hear your thoughts or maybe you could provide some information on depression? Thank you <3

I'm gay, and when I tell some people, them seem disgusted, like all of a sudden I sprouted another eye or something. I just want some explination as to why people think it's gross to be gay?

I'm gay and I was watching a video on youtube about gay bashing, and I read this comment...

"Oh, f****t his feelings hurt? good! Maybe you'll stop taking it up the a** and go to church before you die of aids!"

Now most of it is just stupidity but I seriously wonder, why do people think AIDS=gays? When if you've ever had sex, surgery, a blood transfusion, or used a dirty needle, you have just as much chance of getting it. Oh and btw not all gays like it up the butt! I know I don't!

Listen to this atheist's opinion. It's not that we have a faith that god doesn't exist. It's just that we have more logical thinking, not that religious people are illogical, just that we can't take things on faith! We can't read it in a 2000 year old book and say "Oh it must be true! This book has been around for 2000 years!" We need proof, like fossils, ancient ruins, or even rocks! Atheism, for me at least, isn't about hating religion, it's about not having your answers given to you in a book. It's about the thrill of discovering something, only to have it raise 100 more questions. It's about being able to explore the world around us and saying "How does it work? How did it get here? Where is it going?" and not just saying, "Oh yeah...it works the way god wants it to...it's here because god put it here...it's going wherever god wants it to go..." That's what most christians don't get! Science gives you a sense of wonderment. "How does the world work? How did it get here? Where is it going?" and it's scary but not being able to look in a book like the bible to see all of your answers. But that's whats great, that's what pushes us to discover and explore! That's why we've been to the moon, why we've found cures for disease, that's why we all have the technology that we have. People refusing to say that the world is as it is because "god" wants it that way. But enough of my opinion, what do you think about atheists?

Ok so I go to a school with a bunch of rednecks. Some of them chew tobacco in class, which smells really bad! And it's gross when they spit into a bottle! I was just wondering what kind of trouble they could get in for it. It isn't like I'm going to tell anyone but what would happen if one of them got caught?

Why do you hate? What makes you believe that a god would make the world, just to hate it? It's like a toddler finding a hurt bunny, asking his mother to keep it, nursing it back to heatlh just to hurt it again. It seems senseless! How can you be so cruel to the families of those who have lost fathers, brothers, sons, daughters, mothers, or sisters overseas fighting for your right to do these ignorent things. It's so full of hate, and most of the things that are in the bible are completely unrealistic. The Earth was made in a week?! A guy was nailed to a board and rose from the dead 3 days later?! And the craziest of all, two of EVERY animal, that means over 1,000,000,000 animals, were carried on a boat made by an old guy for 40 days and 40 nights?!?! I mean no hate but how can anyone with common sense believe this?
