Is it about time that we ban all tornados?
Because of the recent tornado that did so much damage and injured and killed so many, isnt it about time that our government ban all tornados? If we banned all tornados then we would not have all this devistation.
Since people want to ban all guns, wouldnt banning tornados be better?
12 AnswersGovernment8 years agoIf someone wants to learn how to defend themselves do they have to join the army?
Perfect example, if someone wants to be able to defend themselves using guns and become an expert marksman does that mean they have to become a cop or join the army or marines or whatever? Recently there is all this news about people wanting to ban large capacity clips and fully automatic guns. But what if a civilian wants to become just as skilled as a marine or navy seal, do they have the legal right to or do they have to instead join the army in order to complete that training? I mean there are classes daily showing women how to defend themselves with kickboxing and self defense. So where do these people draw the line, at what point do they try to tell other people that they cannot pursue additional training in order to defend themselves? With the recent cop in LA it is clear that now even cops can flip out and end up harming civilians and go on a crazy gun shooting spree, so now will these same people try to take the guns away from the police?
1 AnswerImmigration8 years agoIf your collecting welfare, shouldn't it be paid back?
If someone is claiming they need government assistance and they need money to pay for there bills, which is all money given by the taxpayers, shouldn't this welfare money be kept track of and paid pack once that person is working and has money to pay it back? Why isn't welfare set up as a loan, instead it is set up as a free gift where the person doesn't have to pay anything back? For example someone who is working and makes 35k a year has to pay there own way in life, they don't qualify for any assistancez at all, yet someone who doesn't work gets to qualify for over 500 a month in food, have there full rent paid, and also almost 100% of there heating and electricity bills. So these non workers get to collect all this money and never have to pay it back to the taxpayers it was taken from, yet the same taxpayers do not benefit one dime from it at all. Is it asking too much for our government to keep a running tab of all the money given to all these people claiming they need welfare support?
It is known that when the government offers free money to people and they do not have to pay it back that major abuse occurs. So, would keeping a running tab on al those who request welfare be out of line, or do you feel that these welfare people are entitled to all this money and they should not have to pay it back at some point? I for one work and pay taxes yet I cannot have my rent paid for, electricity paid for, or have a check sent to me to cover my food, so why should these welfare people be allowed it when they don't work and don't pay taxes? I'd love to hear from you liberals who say these people are entitled to it, please, expand my mind with your reasoning. And please, write something intelligent in response and not just name call. Lets see who can debate.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoCripple allowed in regular Olympics?
Should that cripple who has no legs have been allowed to even compete in the regular Olypmpics? Isn't that what the Special Olympics are for? And now it appears he shot his wife to death, go figure. Why was this cripple even allowed to compete, with his obvious advantage with his carbon fiber spring legs. What a disgrace.
7 AnswersOlympics8 years agoGovernor of MA, delivering snow emergency on news, annoying woman behind him?
I'm currently watching the governor of MA on the news channels having a conference about the upcoming snow storm. Does anyone else notice the huge black woman directly in back in the camera shot who is fanning herself like she is hot or something? She is just standing there, fanning her face with one of those Chinese fan things. This is completely annoying and disrespectful, and why is she so stupid to not realize how dumb she looks. It's winter, who even carries one of those fans with them anyways never mind use it while they are right on tv?? This fat woman is obviously a state worker, so basically taxpayers just paid her salary to just stand there in the back round fanning her face being completely rude. Who is this woman, I'd love to find out so I can post a video of her and showing ow our taxes are hard at work.

I noticed that even though most of my answered get voted the best answer there are a few that end up getting removed, where I appeal then get sent some bogus reply from yahoo that doesn't even make sense. The only tong I can think of is this yahoo site is run by Liberals who hate people giving actual answers and instead they want you to be nice and kind to everyone. Has anyone else noticed this?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoSuboxone, why is it even allowed for painkiller addiction when simple Immodium works better?
I have experienced it all dealing with pain killers, from taking huge amounts a day to just feel "normal" to finally getting on Suboxone which I was told is a miracle drug for beating drug addiction to finally dong my own research and getting off painkillers with the use of an over the counter medication. And I'm talking about Immodium, which is an anti-diarrheal containing the active ingredient Loperamide.
Being on Suboxone I was still able to get the effects of pain killers, I felt "high" taking large doses. Trying to completely stop taking Suboxone left me with horrible withdrawals, lasting longer than if I were taking oxy.
After much research I found out that Loperamide was in fact an opiate, that does cross into the blood brain barrier but then gets quickly "kicked out". I found this medication taken at doses around 30mg-40mg twice a day completely alleviates the withdrawal symptoms, and I mean completely. I have had zero cravings for pain killers, no cold sweats, no RLS at night, able to sleep a full nights sleep, and never felt high. I was able to drop my doses of this until I was no longer taking it anymore and had zero with.drawls.
I have seen people's comments on taking large amounts of Loperamide, saying you won't be able to crap for a week. At least for me that was completely false, and I had a bowel movement once a day. Taking Loperamide is the same as taking painkillers, mg for mg, as we all know the side affects of taking oxy is it makes you constipated.
I'm wondering why Loperamide is not researched as a medication to help with drug addiction, yet Suboxone is. I feel it is because this drug is already in the market and the original patents have expired so companies can make it and sell it cheaply, unlike Suboxone which still has a patent where the company is able to dictate the price and make huge profit off it. Your thoughts.
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management8 years agoHelp w/IPad 2. How to watch free movies and best apps to get?
I just got an IPad 2 given to me from my office. I needed something new because my Dell laptop is from 03 and keeps crashing. I mainly want it to do Word documents on, and the only thing I found was an app that cost money for this, which ill pay if there are no other free apps for Word. I just tried to watch some movies off a site I usually connect to but now with this IPad it's saying its no supported and won't let me stream the movies. I have a Droid 4 cell and I love it, I'm able to find all the apps I need for free and was able to watch newly released movies from online through my laptop using a Divx program. I've only had this IPad for 2 days but so far it appears the only way to download and watch movies is to pay through ITunes and for the price ITunes wants I can just go buy a Bluray to use in my PS3 and I watch it o my tv. Is there truely any free sites of software I can watch new movies on this IPad, or no way and I have to pay for everything? I came across a thread saying I should download Cydia, but still not sure what that exactly is.
5 AnswersPDAs & Handhelds8 years agoWelfare back in the 1800's?
Now a days it is a fact that we have people on welfare who are completely abusing the supposed "safety net system" that is set up to help out people during bad times. Now we have people that are just plain lazy and don't want to work and they are allowed to live off of taxpayers thanks to our government who lets this abuse happen. Now picture this happening back in the 1800's, a lazy person walking into there town hall requesting welfare stating they are poor and can't find work or they can't do any work. What would of happened, do you think the people back then would pool there money together to give to this person so they can live and eat the rest of there life for free, or would they be told to go screw and go off somewhere to die quietly?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government8 years agoFree app to turn Droid 4 on Verizon into mobile hotspot?
I just got an Ipad 2 wi-fi and would like to go online with it for free if possible. I have a Droid 4 on Verizon and used to be able to use Foxfi on my phone to use my PS3 and laptop, but now that app isnt free anymore. Can anyone suggest a similar app, or do they all cost money now?
4 AnswersCell Phones & Plans8 years agoIpad 2 or Ipad retina? Which is better for work?
My office just told me to pick out an Ipad to get me for work. Basically all im looking for it to do is be able to open Word documens where I can type my daily reports on. I would also like to be able to take these reports and convert them to PDF in order to email them out. I noticed one is set for 3G and the other for cellular. One has a higher video resolution screen which I wouldnt care about. I already have a Droid 4 through Verizon which because ive had the account so long I have truly unlimited data and talk and text, my plan was grandfathered in. Can I somehow add this Ipad to my existing account for free or would I have to pay for a data plan in order to get connected to the net and send emails? I know I can tether an Ipad to my phone since I do it currently with my Dell laptop, but would rather have my Ipad fully wireless if it can be done for cheap money. My work already currently pays my cell phone bill, so trying to keep costs down for the.
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoWhat to do about noisey neighbors?
I live in an apartment with two other apartments attached, and the family in the back is trash. They have a young daughter who constantly dances and jumps up and down which shakes the walls. I have already politely asked if the parents can make her stop this past 9am as I wake and work early, and they basically told me to screw and they can do whatever they want. In the basement we have a shared laundry, which they use at all times of night like at 2am, which is right below my bedroom so it keeps me up so much so I sleep on my couch in the livingroom. Also they refuse to keep the basement door locked where my neighbors and I keep alot of things like tools and things for storage, rims, tires, ac's, furniture we dont have room for, etc. We just got new owners of the building, which is basically a huge beach house set into three apartments. The new owners want to move in asap but becuase of legal issues these annoying tennants have until May 1st to move out. The neighbor and I both agree these people are annoying and out of control, and were thinking of changing the basement door lock to keep them from having access to it. They do laundry almost everyday, seriously they do. We are hoping that not only will our stuff be safe now because the door will always be locked they will get mad that they can no longer do laundry on site and have to go to a laundry mat and will make them move out sooner. Your thoughts, either on my idea or any ideas how to get them to move out sooner. Any ideas will be appriciated. Thanks.
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics8 years agoAsking taxpayers to pay for MA transit overhaul and upgrades?
It appears the governor in MA is asking for working taxpayers to foot the bill to pay for MA transit upgrades. He already said he is against fair increases. So is it ok for him to say that the users of public transportation already pay enough and cant afford it so its up to working taxpayers to pay for it, which most taxpayers dont even use? I pay for my car, insurance, registration, gas with outrageous tax included, and now im expected to have my tax money go to pay for public transportation that I dont even use, while the people who use it wont see a penny increase in there fairs. Please help me understand how my tax money should go to pay to keep public transportation fairs low, when I dont even use it. And do you agree with this, that fairs shouldnt go up to pay for this by people who actually use it?
3 AnswersOther - United States8 years agoGovernor Duval Patrick just said working taxpayers should now pay more?
He wants to raise the state income tax to over 6% in order to pay for infrastructure and a new MA transit, while lowering the sales tax. What is your view on this,? Im wondering why our roads are crap already and wondering where our tax money went to instead of paying to upkeep these roads in the first place. And also why working taxpayers are expected to shell out more money to pay for public transportation when less than 1/3rd dont even use it. So basically me being a single working guy my taxes will go up to pay for schools and public transportation which I dont even use and then maybe the potholes will be finally fixed that already should of been fixed with my current taxes. This sounds like a lose situation for me. Like always.
4 AnswersCivic Participation8 years agoYour opinion on food stamp debit cards, deserving people or just freeloaders?
So back when I used to live in Lowell MA I would constantly see minorities using welfare EBT cards to pay for all the items then take out cash to buy scratch tickets and cigarettes. These people were usually spanish looking or black and almost always had babies with them. So now I moved to a beach community that appears middle class to rich people, yet at the local market I keep seeing white trash looking people using the same welfare cards to pay for ere items which include T bone steaks, fresh marinated chicken breasts, Nestle toll house cookies, Doritos, Lays chips, etc. Basically the buy all the higher priced named brand foods instead of buying the generic brands and not appearing to buy just the basics that one on a budget would buy. Do you agree that someone claiming they are poor should be given a state issued debit card loaded with about $600 a month to use to buy almost whatever they want, or should they be limited to the basics and have that money lowered? All I keep seeing is abuse of this taxpayer funded program, I have even seen some lady who didnt even speak english buy 2 bottles of nail polish then try to get cash back on that welfare card. If someone is poor but they are working you see them clipping coupons and only buying things on sale, but these welfare people seem to live it up and buy things as though they can afford it all. Should this abuse and fraud stop, or should we just keep allowing it to happen?
14 AnswersCivic Participation8 years agoCan "Regular people" take over the American Government?
This is a real question probably for lawyers and gornment scholars. While I do lean more to the right I am disgusted with how this so called government cannot seem to do there job and try to get this country back on track. It appears this fiscal cliff has been known about for many months now and yet our government cannot even work something out to get a plan in action. If this were private business all these people would be fired for not doing there job, yet because its government it seems people put up with this crap. I blame both parties, so please save your comments on who it to blame. How can these elected officials be allowed to get away with this, this is very important stuff here, it is dealing with trillions and out countries budget. So why is there not more outrage? We elected these people to do a job and they are not doing it at all.
Can someone smart tell me where to begin to finallay take over the government, and I dont mean by guns or force, I mean is there any laws that say if the current govern, ent is completely incompetent which it clearly is, there is a way for Americans to over run it and take it over?
These people have a simple job, to keep the country running for the taxpayers, and they are failing big time and enough is enough with this BS.
6 AnswersOther - Politics & Government8 years agoDid you just see Obama? saying americans need to give more.?
Yes, I know as a taxpayer I dont feel im giving enough money to fix this government mess of a blown budget. It is the taxpayers fault for not paying enough, and this must stop. It is about time that all us lazy taxpayers step up to the plate and ask government how much money they need from us so we finally get the budget under control. After all it is because of us taxpayers our government spends so much because of all we ask for in return. I vote that 90% of our paycheck is taken for taxes, and that unemployment be extended another 10 years, and people that collect welfare finally get a cost of living increase of at least double what they currently collect. Also welfare bonuses should be handed out for lets say $5,000, since it is Christmas time and they deserve some gifts too. We taxpayers can afford it, since we have had everything handed to us in the first place.
Civic Participation8 years agoPolice Officers- Taxpayer Funded Good Cheer?
It appears about 250 cops in the Burlington MA area all got together and piled into around 100 cop cars and drove to VA to hand deliver Christmas cards to a young child who has brain cancer. I think thats a great show of sympathy and good thoughts to make one kids Christmas wish to get a bunch of cards from cops and firefighters. But, is this an abuse of taxpayers money, since these cops used taxpayer paid for cars to drive there, without the taxpayers permission? Who gave them permission to take MA taxpayer paid for vehicles out of state, nevermind more than 3 states away? And to the people who say that it was for a good cause and i'm being mean, isnt our taxmoney already going to a good cause and thats to pay for cops to protect us and our streets and NOT act as Santa bringing christmas cards to ONE kid? I think if the cops wanted to hand deliver christmas cards to some kid who only ask for cards in the mail in the first place then they should of paid for a plane ticket to fly this kid up here. Instead it was these jackass cops who went way beyond there authority and feel they can do whatever they want.
2 AnswersCivic Participation8 years agoObama, a good guy and does care.?
This isnt really a question, its more of a comment. I can say that I voted for Romney, i'm an independant, but I must admit Obama seems to really care about people, namely about these 20 young children that were senselessly killed at the school for no reason. For this reason I will say im proud to have a President like this at times like this. God Bless everyone affected by this recent tragedy and my heart goes out in my prayers. Lets hope that nothing ever like this happens again.
