Can "Regular people" take over the American Government?

This is a real question probably for lawyers and gornment scholars. While I do lean more to the right I am disgusted with how this so called government cannot seem to do there job and try to get this country back on track. It appears this fiscal cliff has been known about for many months now and yet our government cannot even work something out to get a plan in action. If this were private business all these people would be fired for not doing there job, yet because its government it seems people put up with this crap. I blame both parties, so please save your comments on who it to blame. How can these elected officials be allowed to get away with this, this is very important stuff here, it is dealing with trillions and out countries budget. So why is there not more outrage? We elected these people to do a job and they are not doing it at all.

Can someone smart tell me where to begin to finallay take over the government, and I dont mean by guns or force, I mean is there any laws that say if the current govern, ent is completely incompetent which it clearly is, there is a way for Americans to over run it and take it over?

These people have a simple job, to keep the country running for the taxpayers, and they are failing big time and enough is enough with this BS.

There is nothing "simple" about running the most powerful, most developed country in the history of humanity.

The fact they are failing just shows that maybe the structure of our country needs to change. This is not the "simple" country it was in the 18th century, it's a new world and nothing is "simple".

And Chuck makes a good point. If "regular people" could run the country, why in hell do only 1/3 or qualified voters in the US even bother to vote? They haven't from the beginning. It boggles the mind.

It's obvious that voting isn't helping. The have-nots continue to vote for bread and circuses.

But if you'd like to be REALLY pi$$ed, read "Throw Them All Out" by Peter Schweizer. Gives some details about how our elected Congresspeople stay in office and make millions by doing what would be considered 'insider trading' by anyone else (and the SEC).
