How do I find a criminal lawyer who will come to me at a police station after hours?
If I were to be arrested for something serious and I needed a criminal lawyer to represent me and talk me through what to do, and it was in the evening after all the local attorney offices were closed, how do I find someone like that?
It seems like most of the attorney websites I m seeing close at 6pm, and because they say "doesn t do consultations over the phone" I assume they also don t come to you in jail?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agoIf I pay off my credit card, how long will it take for it to make my credit score go up?
Last time I paid off the entire balance of my credit card, my credit score shot up to 800. But I can't remember how long it took. I want to buy a house, and am trying to figure how long I should expect the payoff to positively reflect in my credit score.

Can I access the internet wirelessly on an older desktop computer, that does not have wi-fi capability? Is there something kind of equipment I can buy to add to my computer to make it able to access my current wi-fi?
I have the modem and wi-fi router set up upstairs, but I want my desktop computer downstairs. But as I said, its an older computer that does not have wifi capabilities. Is there anything I can do besides plugging it directly with wires upstairs?

6 AnswersComputer Networking6 years agoWhat state do I file a Medical Malpractice lawsuit in, if I live in a different state than the doctors/hospital I am filing against?
In which state am I supposed to file a law suit (for medical malpractice), if the doctors/hospital involved were located in Georgia, and I lived in North Carolina at the time? (So, in essence, I need to know if I should pursue an attorney in North Carolina or in Georgia, or if it doesn't matter.) What if I end up moving to South Carolina, does that affect where I file it? An attorney told me that if the plaintiff and defendant are located in two different states, it is taken to federal court and therefore doesn't matter what state. But where are federal courts located, in case I want to find an attorney near a federal court?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics6 years agoWhat state in the US should I chose my attorney from?
I need to know what state to hire an attorney in. I've been told in the past it has to be in the state where the "incident" happened.
We are looking to hold a medical manufacturer liable for a faulty surgical implant, which is located in NJ. We live in NC. And the surgery where the device was implanted was GA. Legally, which state does my attorney have to be located?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoWhat is your favorite toothpaste to brush with?
I want a toothpaste that really leaves my mouth feeling fresh. They all pretty much seem the same to me, except one I tried recently that was like effervescent. It felt like it was comprised of thousands of tiny little bubbles that left my mouth really fresh--but I can't remember the name of it. Any ideas?
2 AnswersDental8 years agoNeed advice about the FMLA--Family & Medical Leave Act...?
My Father has some chronic medical conditions that right now are really causing him problems, he is always having to go to the doctor for, and is about to have to have surgery for. Unfortunately, his employer doesn't like how much time he's had to take off, and told him that if he takes off another single day this year (and its only January) they will fire him. (They also blamed him for some things he didn't do and threatened to fire him, because they are just looking for any excuse to terminate anyone who is salary, like him.) So his job is extremely in jeopardy, but he knows he's going to have to take off more time to see more doctors and get the surgery done. He mentioned the FMLA to his doctor, and his doctor said he'd sign off on it. But he's concerned that if he gives an application for FMLA to his employer, they will fire him just for applying....or reject it (illegally of course) by acting like it doesn't meet their requirements. Even though it does, as it is stated on the employer's website and gov't website.
Does the application have to begin with the employer, go through them first? What's the chance that they'll risk being sued or penalized by the gov't and reject his application or fire him for applying?

2 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoIn the Northeast region of China, how popular is keeping freshwater aquariums and saltwater reefs in the home?
I know that the fishkeeping and reefkeeping hobbies are very popular in China, due to feng shui and the luck associated with certain fish. But I know its most popular in the Southeast part of the country, and less so in the North or West parts. My question is, what's it look like in Changchun (Jilin province) and Harbin (Heilongjiang province)? I know hotels and restaurants have them, but are they popular in people's homes? Salt and freshwater? Are there a lot of fish stores in those areas?
You may wonder why I'm asking...I'm hoping to open a fish store in one of those two cities, where hopefully fish are popular enough to do well there, but not have as much commercial competition as many places in the Southeast.
1 AnswerChina10 years agoI was stung by something (unidentified) I stepped on in the grass, now I'm having a serious reaction to it?
I was barefoot walking in the grass when I felt a sudden stinging burning stabbing pain on the bottom of my foot, though I did not see anything like a wasp or stinging nettle, nor did I feel like I stepped on anything unusual besides soft grass. For almost a day I couldn't move or touch my foot at all because the pain was so unbearable if I did. The next day (today that is) it doesn't hurt nearly as much, mostly only if I directly press on the area, and it itches like crazy. Eventually it came to the point where the spot I was stung (now a red, dime size bump) is so swollen that I can't walk on it because it hurts.
My REAL concern, however, is that today I became very ill with nausea, vomiting, shaking, fever, and feeling as if I'm going to faint, for most of the day. I can't help but feel that my sickness today could be some kind of reaction (allergic maybe?) to being stung by something, though I have no known allergies (besides the common pollen, dust, trees, grass allergies). I don't even know what I may have been stung by.
To make matters more complicated, my doctors think I have an autoimmune disease (jury is still out on it), probably rheumatoid arthritis, and today I have also noticed the joint pain in my hands and feet has GREATLY increased, so I wonder if being stung by something is creating a greater inflammatory response in my body related to an autoimmune disease. Don't know what stung me, and I don't know what, if anything, can cause these symptoms....so I don't know if this is a serious reaction to be concerned about or not?

3 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation10 years agoWhat's a game similar to Left4Dead? Multiplayer, mindless zombie shooting?
I'm looking for another game like it (besides Left4Dead2), that can be played on Xbox 360, Playstation 2, or the PC. Something that two people can play together at the same time split screen (without being on Xbox live), progressing through a level by doing nothing but shooting zombies.
5 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoCould a Grey Tree Frog and an Australian Green Tree Frog live together in my terrarium?
I'm new to keeping frogs, and I already have a Grey Tree Frog (Hyla versicolor) in a 15 gallon half-land half-water terrarium. My understanding is that Green Tree Frogs are suitable housemates for them; however, I'm pretty sure most people, when they say that, are referring to the slender green frogs of the Hyla genus, ie. the American Green Tree Frog (Hyla cinerea) or the European Green tree frog (Hyla arborea). However, the one I'm looking at buying is much fatter; as far as I can tell, it is what appears to be the Australian Green Tree Frog ("Litoria caerulea"). My question is if these two can go together? From what I see on you tube videos of this frog, it seems like a pretty large and aggressive frog. And does it like a half and half terrarium with high humidity like I have? Any help would be appreciated.
