  • Would I be entitled to any benefits?

My nan has recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and has stated that she does not want to go into a hospice and does not want home carers.

I have handed in my notice for my full time job, as I plan to care for her when her health deteriorates (expected over the next few weeks). I also have a part time job where I work between 10-15 hours per week.

My nan is completing her application for attendance allowance, and I cannot claim for carers allowance until her claim has been accepted.

Is there anything else I could claim in the meantime? I'm not out to scrounge off the system, I have worked since the age of 16, and even have 2 jobs so pay an extortionate amount of tax.

  • Buying a percentage of a house?

My nan has recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness, she owns her own house and lives alone. Her will states that the house will be split between my mom, aunt and uncle. Obviously they will have to sell it as they all have their own homes.

I cannot stand the thought of someone else living in my nans home, but couldn't get a mortgage at the moment for the whole value (I'm 22).

Supposing my aunt, uncle and mom agreed, would it possible for me to buy say 40% of the property approx 60K, they would then receive 20K and remain owners of 20% equity until I could later afford to buy yhe rest of the property from them, which should have increased in value by then.

I've not discussed this with them yet, just wondered if it could be done if they were to agree?

  • Ocean Village Cruise- registering card for drinks on board?

I know they won't take a payment until the last day of the cruise but will they take a reserve amount?

The problem is I am going on the cruise on Thursday but don't actually get paid until Monday so there won't be a lot of money in my account when I register it. Of course there will be enough in my account when I leave the ship and pay for any goods I have received I just wondered whether I would have to have a certain amount of money in my account at the time of registering.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Fleas in the workplace?

Our office is disgusting. Myself and 2 other colleagues have been bitten numerous times this week. One of the girls from upstairs actually caught a flea on her desk.

This week whenever I ahve been at work I have been constantly sneezing and feeling all bunged up yet as soon as I am out of the office or at home I am fine.

The place is disgusting, the carpet is filthy and the cleaners don't do anything.

Do we have any rights against this sort of thing? I'm in the UK.

  • Trouble getting a mortgage?

Im 22 years old, have been living with my fiance for 4 years now. we currently have a council flat. He has perfect credit, I have poor credit. I don't have any CCJ's or anything, but have had some repayment plans set up for a couple of catalogue debts from when I was younger, for no more than 200 quid each. These are all settled now, and I have a contract mobile which I pay every month on time.

We are looking to get a shared ownership property. We have 10,000 for a deposit (a lovely gift from my nan) and would need a mrtgage for around 50,000. We earn around 28,000 a year between us.

Would we be able to get a mortgage?

  • Accident resulting in amputation of finger..... what to do?

Whilst trying to hang a wind chime in the shape of the sun which was a birthday present, my nan unknowingly caught her wedding ring into one of the decorative rays. As she stepped away the ring was trapped and she tore away her finger from the knuckle. She managed to call the paramedics and when she arrived at hospital they told her that she would have to have the finger amputated.

She had the operation yesterday and everything is fine. Although it was a terrible accident, my nan would like to take action to prevent this item being sold if possible, as it does possess quite a serious risk.

My aunt also mentioned that if you lose a limb you are automatically entitled to some kind of compensation? Is this true and do you know of anyone that we should contact?

    Thank you.

  • Getting married in a church?

I got engaged on Sunday :-) and we are looking to get married in August 2011. There's a lovely little church not far from us and I would love to get married there. My mother-in-law to be looked at this church when she got married a few years ago, but chose not as she would have had to go to church 6 months before the wedding.

What will the vicar ask me when I go to meet him? i don't mind going to church for a few months. And how much is hire of the average church? Does the price include the fee for your wedding license?

I haven't got a clue where to start! lol

  • Being a vegan...............?

I have been vegetarian since January this year. Its something I always wnated to do but Im such a fussy eater, I just chose to be ignorant to the meat industry and just eat the foods I liked. After researching meat and how animals are farmed/slaughtered I became a veggie and have never had any regrets.

Now Im thinking of becoming a vegan. But as I am so fussy (I dont like many vegetables and my diet now contains a lot of dairy and pasta etc) Im worried as to wether I will have the willpower to keep it up

  • MS Excel formula question?

After working with Open Office for the past 6 months my Ecle skills have become rather rusty lol.

i have a cash book, and have totalled the bottom on one column using a sum equation. I now need to copy this accross to the neighboruing cells and usually I just drag the little box across. But on Excel it is copying the amount in the cell rather than the formula. IF i double click on the copied cell the formula appears and then it is correct, but there must be a simpler way.

    Im using 2003. Thankyou x
