Budget surplus turned into record deficit...

Worse foreign policy mistake in the history of the United States (Invasion of Iraq)...

Expansion of the threat of terrorism thanks to his failure to focus on Afghanistan...

Collapse of the world economies as a result of deregulation, and a culture of gain and greed at all costs...

Further division of Americans thanks to leveraging the fears of people who have cultural differences to selfish gain...

Creation of a mindset that that intellect and competence are not a requirement for leadership positions int he executive branch (despite the obvious results listed above when such a vacuum exists)...a mindset that clearly still lives (see Sarah Palin....we STILL have people who think that the most important qualification for executive leadership in our government is not the candidates understanding of the issues, or intellectual capacity to deal with them, but instead simply how "likable" the person is, and how much they are like themselves...as though THEY in fact could be POTUS themselves)

Extra question for bonus points - How long will it take to recover from them dismal abyss? can it be done in a single presidency?

Every Monday PTI broadcasts / tapes from the location of the Monday Night Football game, and every Monday they have Ron Jaworski as a guest to review the previous Sunday's games and provide analysis. Jaworski used to give his pick for the winner of the Monday night game, but he no longer does, and Tony makes mention every week that he (Jaworski) is not ALLOWED to pick a winner. Why is this?? Why is "Jaws" not allowed to pick a winner, but Tony and Wilbon are allowed to?

Are Republican politicians running from President Bush like he is radioactive because they have finally realized that he was anything but a true Republican, with his out of control spending, blotted, expanding government, interventionist bent, and merging of church and state policies? Has the Republican electorate finally seen President Bush in his true light...accepted that under his administration a budget surplus has been turned into a deficit, that wealth for the middle class has declined for the first time in history, that the U.S. government is now larger, with more agencies and employees than any time in history, and that he has imposed his personal church beliefs on to the very fabric of the laws of the land?

Have people finally realized that "Republican" and "Neo Con" are not the same thing? That being a conservative and being a religious nut job are not equal?

What are Yahoo Answers Contacts?

WHY are these people becoming my contacts?

What are they getting out of it?

I believe someone said they are 'fans"....does this mean they are notified whenever I answer a question?

I am at a total loss....

So...I have been posting answers since January, and have been Level 3 for some time. All of a sudden, this week I acquire 4 "contacts / fans".

Firstly, I noticed that I really did not get a say in this...but whatever.

Mostly what I want to know is how this works and why it exists...and why would this have just suddenly occurred?
