  • Was I in the wrong or was the other driver overreacting?

The roads were bad today, covered in snow, on my way to work. I stopped at a light, at which point I noticed there was an accident that blocked my lane across the intersection. I was the only one at the light and there was no one behind me so I started to get into the next lane(partially in both lanes). A few seconds before the light turned green a woman, who was on the phone, pulled up next to me started making hand gestures. I pointed out the accident ahead trying to explain the reason why I was the way I was. She then flipped me off and drove off as the light turned green. I thought the finger was uncalled for even if I was in the wrong. So I just want to know for future reference should I have just stayed in my lane and turned my blinker on and waited until I could merge. I figured since I was the only one at the light and it was a short 25mph road between stoplights, it wasn't a big deal.

  • Brother on probation...?

So about two months ago my brother was in a car that got pulled over. He had marijuana on him and also had a warrant from an MIP charge for alcohol (he's 23 now) and was arrested. When he went to his court date he was put in jail for a week until his sentencing. He told the judge that being in jail has opened his eyes and he would rather do probation than jail time. My mom and I were both like "I don't know what he's thinking. He doesn't have a job to pay for all the testing and everything else."

So, now it's about a month later. Turns out he was going to rely on my dad(who is a trucker) for the money. My dad isn't reliable though, he has a gambling problem. He's applied to places but no call back(he doesn't have a GED)...He's like a storm cloud that walks around the house with negative comments, door slams and hissy fits because my mom told him that she can't afford to buy him cigarettes anymore.

A couple of weeks ago I told my mom to ask my dad for money(about $40) so she can go to this good salon. She's always wanted to go somewhere that can advise her on what will look good. My brother was in the room and said "Screw your haircut, I need money way more than you do." It's like were supposed to drop everything just because he ****** up.

**So what do you think, do you think he should just do jail time or wait it out until he gets a job?**

  • Anyone else think scary movie ads should give a warning beforehand?

I just saw this ad with a clip of a creepy looking girl with pale skin and creepy eyes. In the clip it looks like she is under a bed and says "We gonna get you" in a creepy voice. Now I am scared to get off my bed to go brush my teeth and go to sleep. I'm just plain sick of all commercials period. I don't want to buy your crap so leave me alone.

  • Pressing the refresh button...?

Okay so I'm trying to submit my quiz for my computer class right now. The processing window has been up for like 10 minutes. I feel like I should push the refresh button. The only problem is I am only allowed one attempt on the quiz. Will pressing the refresh button mess up my answers/quiz?

  • calculus rate of change?

1.)The edge of a cube is increasing at the uniform rate of 0.2 inches per second. At the instant when the total surface area becomes 150 square inches, what is the rate of increase, in cubic inches per second, of volume of the cube?

2.) Two points, A and B are 275 feet apart. At a given instant, a balloon is released at B and rises vertically at a constant rate of 2.5 feet per second, and at the same instant, a cat starts running from A to B at a constant rate of 5 feet per second. After 40 seconds is the distance between the cat and the balloon decreasing or increasing? At what rate?
