  • I don't think this is wrong..what do you think?

My husband, my two sons, my mother- in law and I were sitting at the dinner table eating dinner, she lets out two big huge burps says excuse me like its nothing. My son then turned and burped and I told him not to burp at the dinner table. My mother-in law got all mad and goes did you just tell him not to burp at the table I go yes she said why I said because its rude, she says well I have never been able to hold in my burps I go well my son can, she goes that's ridiculous I said well no child of mine will be burping at the dinner table, she got up was all mad and said we are stern on things that we shouldn't be stern on and to lax on the things we should be stern on. Which really makes no sense since everyone we have ever met talks about how well behaved our children are, I told her well everyone has their own way at doing things, she then proceeded to tell me that me and my husband need parenting lessons. I was just wondering am I really in the wrong for telling my son not to burp at the table because its rude and inconsiderate for other people that are there and that are eating? I was never allowed to burp at the table I personally think its nasty and would prefer my kids not to do so but I was just wondering what other people thought, I have never know anyone that just lets their kids belch at the table.

  • Swollen lymph nodes 4 yr old?

OKay, well I took my son to the doctor yesterday for his swollen lymph nodes. The doc seemed a little concerned, and wanted to do blood work and a chest x-ray. I have taken him to the doctor for this before but it was another doctor and he did blood work and gave him some antibiotics. This doctor also gave him some antibiotics, and I had to take him to get the blood work and chest x ray done. I was watching what he was writing in his folder and I believe I saw him write lymphoma. I dont know if he was just writing this as maybe a guess or what. He said that with them not hurting him and him not acting sick thats a good sign, but he wouldnt tell me anything else. He told me to make him an appt for thursday which is tomorrow and he would have the results and then we would talk about it then. I have been worried sick, not sleeping barely eating and all I want to do is cry. I'm so worried that my son may have cancer, and I dont know what I would do if he did. I really dont think I could handle him being sick, it would drive me crazy. Yesterday I felt like I was going to have a panic attack or a heart attack, my chest was hurting so bad and I could barely breath, felt really heavy. I'm trying to stay positive for him, but inside I'm crumbling. I saw his chest x ray and to me it looked good, I didnt see any growths and it looked like healthy lungs. I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack right now thinking about having to take him to the doctor tomorrow to find out his results, hopefully I dont throw up in the office. I dont know if I'm overreacting or what but I cant stand to think something is wrong with my son, or that he is sick. I would take his place in a heartbeat if I could. I just love him so much and the thought the what if is making me really sick. Any help or advice would be great.

  • swollen lymph nodes in a 4 yr old?

I took my son to the dentist in Feb. he is 4 and he needed some cavities filled and needed a crown on a tooth, they gave him some laughing gas to ease his nerves. Right after we got home from the dentist I noticed a lump on the base of his neck, I figure maybe he had his neck wrong or because he was tense he has a tense muscle and I really didnt give it a second thought. Well not even a week later it was still there, well I noticed he had another swollen spot under his left ear on the same side as the other lump. I took him to the minor care center and all of his blood work came back normal and they said from him coming from the dentist and having that lump that he more then likely had an infection. They also said they may not ever go down, and after he sees his pcp they may want to biopsy them to make sure that they are not cancerous even though he believes they arent since they didnt just come up they were there right after his dentist appt. He also said that even with the antibiotics that they might never go down. Well he took some really strong antibiotics for two weeks and they went down a whole lot. But they are still there, due to insurance issues I have not been able to take him back to the doctor but I will be able to do it now Monday. I'm worried that they could be cancerous? He eats normal, he isnt sleepy, no night sweats and like I said all of his blood work came back normal even his plat. count. Could it be maybe that he still has an infection or could he just always have swollen lymph nodes. The doctor said that he they just came about for no reason then he would have admitted him into the er right then and there but because they came right after the dentist that they are an infection. Has anyone else had this happen or know anything about lymph nodes? I have looked on web md and have not really found anything. Any help would be great thanks

  • Surgical Tech question?

I want to go to college for the surgical tech program, I'm just worried if its worth it. I have seen online that some people say that it is hard to find a job after you get out of school, and that you may have to do office work in order to get into the surgery department. So I was wondering if anyone out there has done it before was it hard trying to get into a job after school. How much do they usually start out in the state of Texas. What are the hours like, and would you recommend the job for others. Also my last question is how is the schooling,is the program hard? Thank you so much for all the help!

  • Is there an online college for Occupational Therapy Assistant?

I'm wanting to go to college, but due to the fact that I have small children at home I'm not able to attend a regular college. So I'm looking for something online, I came across Occupational therapy assistant and thought that would be something that I would love to do, but I'm wondering if you can do that online. I have looked it up online and some things say you can and somethings say you cant. I was wondering if anyone knew for sure that you can do it online, and if so has anyone took the course online and how was it. I don't want to do the Occupational therapy aide course due to the fact that they make so much more less, and I want to be " In there" so to speak. Any help would be great! Thank you

  • Lump in left breast with sharp occasional pain?

I noticed about two weeks ago that I have a pea size lump in my left breast. Looking at my breast like north south east and west it would be more like NE its sorta on the side of my breast. It moves under my finger when I add pressure it does sorta hurt then I will be sore for a while. I also have been getting sharp pains through my left breast after I had my son but thought it was due to me breast feeding. But I'm still getting them and I stopped breastfeeding 6 months ago. Not leaking discharge from my breast or anything, both are the same shape and you cant see the lump unless you feel for it. I thought it was more then likely a cyst. I was trying to see if anyone else had the same problem and what they did for it. Dont have any insurance so I cant just rush to the doctor and figured if I went to the ER they would just refer me to someone else. All the help would be grateful, thanks ;)

  • +30 at doctors office?

Ok I went to the doctor this past Tuesday, my doctor was out on vacation so I had to see another doc. Well since Jan I have been going to the doc 2-3 times a week due to my high BP and migraines, and the doctor kept thinking that I was getting pre-eclampsia. Well When I went this past Tuesday they checked my urine with the little strip things and the lady said that it said it was +30...I dont know what that means, and the doctor never even looked at the strip. It has been bugging me since I left there and I forgot to ask her about it when she came into the room. So does anyone know what that means? Kinda freaks me out a little bit bc I have all the signs of pre-eclampsia except for a bunch of protien in my urine, maybe it doesnt matter since I have to have a c section Monday? Thanks

  • blackjack dealers in Las Vegas?

My hubby is going through the blackjack dealer school, he is really doing a wonderful job. The casino that he is at paid for his schooling and if he passes the auditions then he has the job. So he will also get the experience from this casino too. We don't want to live where we live forever and he would love to move to Las Vegas, but before we are to do that I would like to know somethings about Vegas.

    1. Is it hard to find work dealing blackjack even though you have the experience?

    2. A round about figure of how much they make a night or week or month?

    3. Would he have to do training all over again when he gets there?

    4. How is the cost of living there? Is it expensive to rent or own a home?

    5. Do you personally think it would be an alright environment to raise our two children?

    Thank you ahead of time.

  • Do you believe that this is mean?

Ok well I have a 2 yr old son, and I'm having our next son in four weeks. I have to have another c-section with this baby and this is our last one. My mom and my hubby's mom live in another state and will be coming down once the baby is born, but we live by the rest of my family and is very pushy, and they are the type of people that will be over at my house or up at the hospital forever and never leave. So my question is this, is it mean of me when I go to have my c-section to ask my aunt to watch my son up at the hospital so that hubby can be in the OR and tell everyone else that they can come the next day so me my hubby and my 2yr old son can spend time alone with the baby? My son is very attached to me and I know it will be hard on him, so I think if we had alone time with just us four that it might make it easier on him instead of everyone in the world hanging around and doing nothing but talking about the new baby.

  • pre-eclampsia questions?

OK well I went to the doctor last wed. and my Bp was a lot better then what it has been 130/92. Well the doctor came in and asked me if I was still having headaches and seeing "spots" I told her yes, then she checked me for swelling which I was swollen up to almost my knee. Then she checked my reflexes and said they were "brisk" and that she wanted to admit me to the hospital, so I would be on bedrest, they would do lab work and another 24 hr urine test. Well I went onto the hospital and they did all that, then on Thursday she came to see me and said I look better not so swollen and my reflexes were better but I told her I'm still having the headaches and seeing spots, and she said she thinks its just migraines, but I'm not sure bc nothing gets rid of the headaches. In the hospital they gave me 2 percacets (sp) and a sleeping pill that night so I could sleep, then the next day they gave me some migraine meds and it kinda took some of it away but I still had a bad headache. So anyway she said that she would call me if my urine came back high. So my question is this, of course with me layin in bed for almost 2 days of course I wouldnt be as swollen, and my BP was good bc I was just laying there and all doped up. But how could I one minute have brisk relfexes then they be fine? And I dont understand I have most signs of pre-eclampsia?? So i guess maybe I'm confused? Did anyone have any of these problems and have pre-eclampsia?

  • family issues...............?

Ok first off I will say this is long but please read. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I went to the doctor the other day and she went ahead and admitted me to the hospital for observations, due to high BP swelling and she wanted to do a 24 urine test on me just to make sure that I dont have pre-eclampsia. Well my aunt took me to the doctor and thank god she was there so she could take my son with her, she called my grandma and told her what was going on and asked her to call my husbands work and let him know what was going on and that when he got off of work to pick up our son. Well she called my husbands job, told them that I was in the hospital, I'm having our baby I'm 32 weeks pregnant and they are going to life flight me and the baby to another city because the baby is to tiny to be able to live and this hospital doesnt have a NICU. Ok, my husband works an hour away he got to the hospital in 25 mins, came running in the door to find me just sitting there watching tv lol. Then my grandma and my aunt (not the one who took my son with her another one) are telling everyone the same story she told my husbands job. They have everyone in an up roar and its not even true. Then the next day her "friend" from church comes into my hospital room keep in mind I dont even know this lady, and is telling how I'm in her prayers and how bad I must be feeling and how scared I am that I have to have my baby so early and that we have to be life flighted to another city and so on and so on. I'm just sitting there looking at her like you got to be kidding. It was a long and strange 5 mins. Also they my grandma keeps calling up to the hospital and asking me how are you? how are you feeling? I told her I'm fine there is nothing really wrong I'm just here for observations, she gets all pissy and raises her voice and says "Your not fine, you are not fine! if you were fine you wouldnt be there so stop telling me you are fine!" Then I told her that the doctor came by and told me that they would let me out the next day at 2:30pm so my aunt could come and pick me up, then she tells me doesnt ask but tells me that she is going to keep my 2 yr old son for the next couple of days and he can stay with them. I have never been away from my son at all he is my little buddy we do everything together and I was away from him for a night and half a day, he was freaking out and he would just cry and cry and say he wanted me and for me to come get him. So I told her no he needs to come home with me, then I asked her why she told people all that stuff, and of course she said "I never said that" and I told her that her"friend" even told me that she said that and she goes" Oh sometimes Bobby gets things mixed up ya know she has a good heart and all", and then she goes" I never told her you were going to have the baby what I said was that there is a BIG possibility that you would or could have the baby early and they would life flight both of you to another city". WTF?? I told her I didnt like the fact that she said that and that I'm fine. She knew I got kind of upset, then she calls me back later on that day and tells me that they are going to bring us food, because I dont need to be doing anything, and the doctor told them that I need to rest. What the hell they didnt even talk to my doctor. SIGH they are driving me freakin nuts and will probably make me go into labor soon lol. I'm getting to the point I dont want nothing to do with them, I dont want them around me or my son or my unborn child. They are crazy!! So my question is..do you believe that is something I shouldnt do or should I run for the hills like I want and feel like I should do? Thanks for taking the time to read this I'm sorry its so long.

  • Baby shower gifts....?

My cousin is having a baby shower on the 21st of this month, and I was going to get her an outfit and a grooming kit, or hooded bath towel set/ grooming kit or outfit. Is that ok? I have never went to a baby shower heck I never even had one with my son, and I really dont want to get her something that is popular so that she wont have double of something. Do people get that kind of stuff a lot at baby showers?

  • I have to have a c-section..?

OK, well this will be my second c-section, and certain members of my family are driving me nuts-o. We plan for this to be our last child, this will make our second boy, and that's all the kids we want. So, my question is this, is it "mean" to not call my family and let them know when I go into the hospital for my c-section? My fiance, his mom and my son will be there, and the only reason why my fiance's mom will be there is because she is coming down to help take care of my son while I'm in the hospital. And I really don't want no one else there but my mom but she cant come until after I have the baby, I guess I really want this time to be special and I want me, my fiance and my son to be able to spend alone time with the new baby without people coming in and out and not letting me rest and not letting us spend time together. I don't care if they come by like the next day after I have the c-section and stay for a little bit, but they are crazy they will be there all day every day then follow me home and stay there all day and come back bright and early the next morning plus call me all day. Sigh so is it mean for me to not even to say anything about when I have my c-section? Or do I just let them come up to the hospital, then when I come home lock my doors?

  • Question about Toxemia ?

I went to a doctors appointment last Wed, and she said that my BP has been high since I was 15 weeks pregnant. Which is odd to me because I have never had high BP. She said that I might be getting Toxemia and she wanted me to do a 24 hour urine. And she wants me to come in twice a week. But I have a question, they do the dip stick thing every time I go into the doctors office, wouldn't that tell them if I had protein in my urine? Also my mom had toxemia with my little brother, is that something that I should tell the doctor about? And I keep getting these headaches, they are in my forehead and they don't go away they stay for a couple of days. Would that be something dealing with toxemia? I don't want to seem like I'm being a drama queen. Thanks for the advice!!
