4 AnswersIce Skating8 years agoConfidence to do jumps on the ice ?
When you first started jumps in figure skating , were you scared ? any tips on how to stop thinking and just go for the jump because I just started jumps and I get so scared , I don't know why , I am not afraid of falling at all but when I do jump I get such a relief :P , any tips ? Will I get more confident with time ? I just started the waltz jump but my coach said I will start salchows probably next month .
3 AnswersIce Skating8 years agoBreaking in new figure skates ?
I bought these skates last week and I skated in them for exactly 7 hours and they already feel much much better and I am getting used to the edges and all but first time I skated in them I couldn't even do a one foot glide right and when I removed the skates after the 1 hour session I had a blister on the side of my left foot but it didn't hurt too much so I shrugged it off and after skating in them for 2 more times the blister kind of dried a little and peeled away but now I have raw skin which really really hurts when I skate on it or even touch it , so I was wondering if you have any time on how to deal with the blister and make it heal faster , I also got a few cuts on my ankles where the top of the boot hits the skin but these don't hurt that much so I don't mind them . I know this kind of question is asked a lot but oh well . The skates are Jackson Competitor with Aspire XP blades . oh and if you have any tips to break them in faster that would help because I can't get that much knee bend on them or do dips correctly .
Thank you :)
6 AnswersIce Skating8 years agoIndian show with many fainting scenes ?
I know this is a weird question but I like watching fainting scenes or scenes where someone gets hurt or is unconscious or even just gets dizzy .
I already watched all of the Geet and Maan scenes and I have watched the Yash and Aarti scenes
Anyone know of any shows with many of those scenes
4 AnswersDrama8 years agoCan I keep using Betadine soap ?
So last week I had an infection or whatever in my armpit and he gave me betadine soap ( shower gel ) and ever since I started using it , I didn't smell AT ALL , it is sooo good . So I was wondering if I can keep using it as my usual soap or is it special for dermatology cases and diseases ?
3 AnswersSkin Conditions8 years agoUSPS shipping questions ?
So I live in Sharjah , United Arab Emirates , and I ordered figure skates online so it is a pretty big package and the shipping was over $100 . I was wondering if they will deliver to my doorstep because I believe they didn't ask for the Po Box when I ordered it and I wrote the address of my apartment . We don't have a mailbox btw .
5 AnswersUnited Arab Emirates8 years agoShould I get new skates ( Jackson freestyles ) ?
I have been skating for 8 months now , and I have had my skates for exactly 6 , my skates are Risport RF4 . My foot is pretty wide and long ( I am a size 10 in figure skates ) and I don't think that my skates fit me very well , since they are my first skates I don't really know how figure skates are supposed to feel .My skates make my feet hurts after just 20 minutes of skating , I think they are too narrow because I can't really move my foot around that much to change edges or spin properly . I am considering purchasing Jackson Freestyle boots , didn't decide on a blade yet ( any suggestions ? ) , I am ready to save money for them and I am able to purchase them . The moves I am learning are :
1. Backward crossovers
2. Forward crossovers
3. Shoot the duck
4. Waltz jump
5. Very simple footwork sequences
6. Three turns
7. Scratch spins
8. Consecutive edges
9. Lunges
10. Spiral
So now you have an idea about my level .
Don't tell me to ask my coach because I will in my next session but I wanted more opinions ^^
2 AnswersIce Skating8 years agoBackward spiral help please?
I know I can ask my coach but I don't have a lesson with her until next week and I have a practice session tomorrow where I am hoping to improve my backward spiral . I have actually just started learning a backward arabesque ( classic spiral ) 2 days ago , but I can't do it , my forward spiral is good , but when I try to go backwards the moment I take my leg up , my supporting foot starts going on the toe pick . Help me please :) ! I have only been skating for 7 months
Oh !! and if you can please give me some tips on how to get more flexible for my spirals ( I already do off ice classes ) , a few stretches I can do or something , and If you can help me get my splits please !

3 AnswersOther - Games & Recreation8 years agowhat is it like to learn a language ?
Hi , I am 14 and I am thinking about learning Japanese . I was wondering what you do in a language course and how the experience is so I have some questions :
Do the instructors give you a list of books to buy ?
After you are able to construct simple sentences and write them do the instructors give you assignments , like for example write a paragraph or write a few sentences or some exercises to solve ?
Please answer according to you're experience learning a language ( Japanese preferably ) . btw I am considering taking classes at Berlitz language institute since there is one close to my house and it is internationally known :) so is it a good place to learn in ?
