  • Introducing a new rat to an old one?

I've had a rat for about 1 year and felt bad since rats are social and I don't spend enough time with her, so recently i purchased a rat friend for her and not really sure how to introduce the two together. I keep the new pet in a small fish tank next to the older one's cage. Not sure if this makes a difference but the new rat i believe is only a few weeks old but somehow larger than my older rat. I tried introducing the two today by cleaning out my old rat's cage and having the new one sit in there for awhile then put my older rat in. The older rat kind of jumped onto the newer rat and started to pick at the newer rat's face. I got scared and quickly grabbed the older rat away thinking the two were going to fight. I put them back together and the newer rat would just sniff the older one's rear while the older one kept pouncing onto the newer rat. Whenever that happened, I would grab the older rat and seperate the two for awhile. Was it anything serious how my older rat jumped on the newcomer, or were they just play wrestling? The new rat didn't squeal and no blood seemed to be drawn. My older rat also did not seem to display any signs of aggression such as raised fur, pushing the other rat on the side, or arcing it's back/tail. Should I stop intervening and watch the two do their thing or was my rat actually being aggressive and I should separate them?

  • how to find instantaneous velocity?

the question is "calculate the instantaneous velocity at the bottom of the hill"

for the experiment i let a car roll down a small ramp

so the distance of the ramp is 67.6 cm and the time it took from the top to bottom was 2.413 seconds

i also rolled the car from the midpoint of the ramp so the distance it traveled was 33.8cm and it took about 1.78 seconds i dont know if that info is needed but i thought i should include it

so i've calculated the average velocity to be 2.8015 cm/s

so can someone tell me how to find the instantaenous velocity of the bottom of the hill?
