  • Does this violate the conservative "no new taxes" oath?

The Cons have taken the Grover Nordquist oath not to raise taxes especially on the richest 1% of the country. However, to make some revenue, the politicos are now talking about doing away with the tax deduction for home mortgages, and taxing employer health benefits. Isn't this raising taxes too? So, how do the Cons explain this, and say they are keeping their pledge? Sounds like double talk at the expense of the middle class again.

  • How much would you be willing to pay for a hair dyeing service?

I, like many other women, dye my hair myself. It is just too darn expensive in a shop or salon. My question is twofold:

    1) If there was a place you could go and bring your own hair dye kit, and have your hair colored for a nominal fee, would you be interested in this service? There wouldn't be any other services available. No cuts, no styling, etc. The only service would be the application of and rinsing of the hair dye.

    2) How much would you be willing to pay for this service?

  • Is it true that no one broils food anymore?

We just bought a new gas oven and were told that the oven does not come with a broiler pan. The saleslady at Sears said that's because no one broils anymore. Is this true, or is it a plot to make you pay for one as an extra? If you don't broil any longer, what do you do instead? I can't imagine that frying a good steak could ever replace broiling.

Just an fyi, I'm hanging on to my old broiler pan and will use it in the new oven. If we weren't told this, I would have thrown it out..

  • Can we take the high road, and try to do something constructive?

The Arizona shooter is a liberal. The Arizona shooter is a conservative. Liberals are Satanists. Conservatives are fear mongerers. Enough already!

No matter what happened in the past, it's just that the past. It's over. Time to move on. There are just too many problems in the world right now to keep score. We need to tone down the rhetoric, the hate, and the name calling and LISTEN to each other. We have intelligent people with good ideas on all sides of the spectrum.

Hatred brings us nothing but more hatred.

So, what can we do to start working together? We need serious solutions to the problems plaguing the world. How can we cross this great divide, and start working together?

I would like to get some good ideas maybe starting on the local level. Put your intelligence to good use and make some suggestions.

  • Why not tax the churches?

Since the churches have no compunction as far as telling their members how to vote, why shouldn't they be taxed like any other corporation?

Source: Catholics are told to not vote for pro choice candidates.

  • Hot L Baltimore on DVD?

One of my all time favorite comedies was the short lived series Hot L Baltimore that starred the immensely talented Conchata Ferrel. You probably know her better as Berta on Two and a Half Men.

I have searched and searched to find out if this show will ever be released on DVD without any luck. Does anyone know if this show is scheduled to be released on DVD?
