My friend's bday/sleepover is coming up soon, and it seems like everyone who's going is buying her a present, so I have to get her one too. I know this will make me sound selfish, but I kind of don't want to give her one, because she never gets me one. She's always using me for my money (lying and saying we'll split a plate if we go out to eat, but i'll end up paying for the whole thing) or borrowing my clothes and never giving them back, no matter how much I politely ask. I'm always getting stepped on and used by her, so I'm a little bitter when it comes to buying her a present. How can I get over this feeling - I don't want to be mad?

This guy who used to be a really good friend of mine just messaged me out of the blue and said I was changing, that I now have an effed up attitude, and is saying I'm depressed and shat like that. I don't even know how to respond without saying something really rude. This past year I've matured a lot, and I've started making new friends who are way more accepting of the fact that I'd like to grow up. My ex friend is really immature (ex: he was laughing at this guy that had a speech impediment) and he can be extremely rude to me, so I cut him out of my life a while ago. How can I tell him, politely, that I'm changing for the better?

I bid on this item on ebay, but now I'm outbid, I'm starting to wonder if I should even get it anymore. I think these pants would look really cute w/ like, a black crop top, or maybe just a white button down & some jewelery. Do you think these are worth $12? I was thinking of just ditching them and saving up for a swimsuit or something.

So today my friends texted me and told me that they're planning on going to an amusement park tomorrow, and they want me to come. But tomorrow's also my little sister's birthday. We're not celebrating it until tomorrow, but I still feel guilty that I'm going out while my sister has to stay at home (she's sick). Should I go? I'm not really feeling up to it, and going is like $40 (along w/food). I don't feel like wasting money on something that I'm not even feeling up to. Should I go anyways, just to hang out with my friends? Or should I stay at home with my sister? Thanks!

& I've already started studying, but I'm seriously freaking out. I'm worried that I'll forget everything about Mesopotamia & the Indus River Valley. How can I cram in some more studying? I already have my Princeton Review book, and I've done sparknotes' fake multiple choice exam (I got a 3). How can I study for the essays a bit more? Thanks so much!

I'm quitting swim, because I have absolutely NO time to do it. My swim club's practice schedule is absolutely erratic, and doing swim over the summer interferes with almost everything I'm doing over break. Plus, I don't want to shell out $400 bucks it. I have 5 days to write a request for a refund that they'll accept, but I have no idea how to write it or what to put in it. How should I write it? Thanks!

I can't do flip turns (although I'm getting better), I can't really dive, I can't do anything! I'm doing clinics right now so that I'll be better by the team the real season starts, but it's so frustrating being the worst person on the team. (Plus I'm the oldest person doing clinics - I'm 15). Should I quit swim or does it get better? Because right now I hate it :/

I'm about to order my new phone & I noticed that the iPhone 3GS comes as cheap as 30 bucks on AT&T.com while the iPhone 4 comes as cheap as 100. Is there really a big difference between the 2, and is it worth buying the iPhone 4 over the iPhone 3GS? Thanks!

So, I'm asking for an iPhone 4 for Christmas, & I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it, but I want my parents to get the best deal possible for it. I was looking into refurbished ones, and I saw that they're selling iPhone 4 16 GB for only $129 on AT&T. But the thing is, it says it has cosmetic blemish. I was wondering, how bad are cosmetic blemishes usually when you're dealing with refurbished phones? Should I get it, or should I just get the normal refurb one for $149? Thanks!

He's just been a real jerk these days. Earlier this week he kicked me out of my room because it was "dirty" (there were a couple shirts on my bed - I hadn't had any time to clean it up because I wake up early to catch the bus). Then he's just been snapping at me a lot, blaming me for everything, making me do all the work in the house and letting my siblings sit back and relax. Now he's not letting me go to my friend's bday dinner/sleepover, for no reason! I haven't done anything to piss him off, i sware. the way he's been treating me lately is just really hurting me. What should I do?

So basically my best friend's brother asked me to junior prom. He & I are good friends, but I know as a fact he's liked me as more than a friend (he asked me out last year - I said no). I don't think that he'd try to ask me out or anything this time, but I don't want things to get awkward between us, and between his sister (my best friend) and I. Plus, I'd have to go looking for a dress and all that, and honestly, I'm not friends with a lot of juniors so I'm not sure if it'd be fun. But i don't want to make him feel bad or anything. ARG.
