There is oil around the old spark plugs and I was told a year ago I have a blown head

I can't really afford to pay $300 for a cat/con for my Jimmy, but I do have one in a '74 Suburban that's sitting in my driveway I'd like to use that until I can get a new one. Is it compatible?

The Jimmy has a 5.7L gas engine.

My husband is an insulin dependent diabetic (type 1). He has had a regular daily schedule but has just been hired for a "graveyard shift" job. I'm concerned about his eating and insulin taking literally doing a 180. Any suggestions for an easy transition?

I had an exterminator come to my house for spiders and he told me you can't *prevent* spiders, you can only squish them or spray poison on them. He says they can walk over the area that's been sprayed and it won't harm them. Needless to say, this freaked me out because I have a BIG spider problem.
