Is it better to be kind or stern to employees you're supervising?
Background: I'm a male in a position where I'm supervising a small number of female employees. These are not prominent people; high school education or less, unskilled, poor attitudes, etc. They are constantly making mistakes or screwing around which requires me to address their issues. I'm a friendly person in general but It seems like the more I try to be kind with them and reason with them or treat them the way I would want to be treated, the more they take advantage of me, or lie to me, or see me as a "pushover". However, I don't feel like I can be a full on d*ck, because I need to be able to trust them when I'm not around. Then again, "things" seem to happen when I'm not around anyway and they do respond to me being a d*ck when I am right in front of them. Any advice on how to manage these employees? Should I just say screw it and put down the hammer or is it true that "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar"?
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance7 years agoAt the end of Hachi: A Dog's Story, were Parker and Hachi reunited? Or was that Hachi's dream?
When Parker steps off the train and they meet was that suppose to symbolize their souls reuniting again? Or was the scene of him getting off the train and greeting the dog Hachi's final dream or memory before he passed? I'm confused because they show the dog close his eyes, and then play flashbacks of the two together, and then when they meet the dog was young again, which makes me think it was his final memories before he died :( That movie was REALLY sad.
1 AnswerMovies9 years agoVGA to LCD TV connection help?
Hello, I am trying to connect my old Dell E520 desktop running XP with a NVIDEA GeForce 7300 LE card to a LCD TV via the 15 pin VGA cable. I connected the cable to my TV and switched it to PC mode, but I get no signal. Is there anything else I need to do?
I can connect a newer Windows 7 Dell laptop to the TV so the VGA cable and TV are working correctly. I'm starting to wonder if the NVIDEA card is compatible, since it's older (2006)?
4 AnswersMonitors9 years agoOk to plug TV into cable box power outlet?
I just bought a new Sharp LED LCD TV and I was wondering if it was ok to plug the power into the A/C outlet on the back of my cable box? The cable box plug is plugged into a surge protector but I just want to make sure the TV is protected too, and I wasn't sure if using that outlet on the back of the box could harm the TV in anyway?
2 AnswersTVs9 years agoWhich of these 2 LED tv's would you buy?
http://www.sceptre.com/Products/LEDTV/Specs/E325BV...
or
http://westinghousedigital.com/products/led/32-40/...
I'm not too familiar with HDTV's and not sure which was the better buy. The Westinghouse has 100,000-1 contrast whereas the Sceptre only has 20,000-1. Aside from that I'm not sure, I know these are 2 "off" brands, but it's going in a kids room so I don't want to spend a lot on it. Based on the specs of the 2, which tv would be better and which brand is the more reliable brand? They're priced about the same, around $225.
Or if anyone can recommend me any other 32"+ LED tv's for under $250 I would appreciate it.
Thanks

1 AnswerTVs9 years agoCan someone explain the creature "IT" from the movie?
If I understand this right, "IT" was actually just a giant spider killing the kids? And all of the weird things happening didn't really happen they were just figments of their imaginations (the boy seeing his dead dad, blood in the sink, etc.) used to rationalize the killings. And what were the "deadlights"? This movie was confusing lol.
5 AnswersMovies9 years agoHow can I backup my PS3 saved game data?
I'd like to have an external copy of my saved game data in case anything happens to my PS3, but I don't know what to use to do this? Do they sell PS3 memory cards, like they used for PS1/PS2? Please post some product links if you can, thanks!
PlayStation10 years agoIs it possible to get an STD from sharing clothes, towels, sleeping in the same bed?
I've been living with my roomate since august, she recently informed me she has HPV. We've never slept together or had any sexual contact. But she's worn my gym shorts and boxers; I'm pretty sure without underwear, sweatshirts, etc. We've used the same towel before and I've slept in her bed a few times. Are these habits putting me at risk for contracting an STD?
