  • How much should the Assistant Manager of a restaurant make in salary?

I was offered a job as Assistant Manager of a corporate chain restaurant, specifically the Front of House Manager. I have a lot of restaurant experience but am making the jump to management. I am meeting with the owner tonight to agree on salary. He told me to get a number in my head and he would come with one too and we would see what we could do. This is going to be a 55 hour a week job with potential bonuses. So... what kind of range do you think we should be in? Should I ask for more thank I think I deserve for negotiation purposes? I have a number in mind but I want to see what you all think to see if I am in the right range. Thanks!

  • Last Minute Fantasy Advice- Week 10 at WR- Ocho or Mason?

Chad Johnson recovering from last weeks hit but will play, he also has to contend with the return of Henry... should I risk playing big play Johnson or go with the steady Mason on the other side of the field?? I am also starting Lee Evans and Marques Colston.

  • Restaurant Management- Background check?

I know it will be easy to answer this question... "YES!" And, "You need to be prepared for anything" and stuff like that. And I understand that, I do. But I would really love to hear from an acting manager of a corporate or chain restaurant... do most restaurants do background checks on Managers? I know they rarely if ever do on any other position in the restaurant. And I wont bore you guys with all the details like a lot of people do but lets just say it was a pretty easily understandable crime I commited when I was 18. Do your restaurants have an auto-matic no felony policy? Or is it possible to talk further about the specifics of my situation, if I was applying to your restaurant? In my situation I think these guys really like me and want me, and I'm not going to lie to them but I dont know if I will even ever be asked, I submitted a resume and haven't yet been asked to fill out an application. Do you restaurants that do background checks, do them before the job is offered or after?

  • Pre-Playoff Trade- McNabb, McGahee & Hasselback, Ocho Cinqo?

My Playoffs start next week (week 11) and I am currently in 4th place, have had a decent year but need to make that final push strong.

I give: Donovan McNabb & Willis McGahee

I get: Matt Hasselback and Chad Johnson

I start two RB's and have Steven Jackson, LenDale White, and Just Fargas already. As well as Selvin Young waiting in the wings if Henry is suspended or hurt. So I am thinking I could spare McGahee for a better QB.

My first starting QB is Romo, I think McNabb is headed nowhere but down and Hasselback is on his way up so I am basically doing this trade for an upgrade at QB to finish the year.

I probably won't even start Ocho Cinqo unless I have to, he has been too inconsistent.

My WR's: (start three each week)

    Marques Colston

    Lee Evans

    Andre Johnson

    Dwayne Bowe

Any thoughts would be helpful and best answer will go to best analysis, thank you!

  • Does anyone have any idea how magicians/illusionists predict things (like on the new show Phenomenon)?

Have you all been watching Phenomenon? I have seen illusionists do many of these tricks before and obviously there is an explanation somehow... even Criss Angel admits everything is an illusion and there is no real "magic". But I am very curious if anyone knows how they do things like pick random audience members (by throwing frisbees! seems truly random) and the people can pick any three objects (in the murder mystery) and the illusionist has those three things already written on a scroll hanging above the audience! From Phenomenon it was Tom Hanks, killing someone with a dresser, in Hawaii. Any thoughts on how they do that? I cant believe the audience is in on it because someone would confess and take the money a tabloid or website would offer them to tell us how its done! So whats the deal??

  • Anyone been to a live Criss Angel performance?

Obviously there are widespread reports that he uses camera manipulation as well as paid actors to act as spectators. However, if this were true I would think at least some of them would take the sure money from tabloids to explain how he does some of his tricks. So... have any of been eye witnesses to a Mindfreak!? Particularly one of the ones like walking on water, walking through glass, any of those?

  • Toilet tank broken, so how do I flush?

From a college kid in an unusual circumstance... I won't get into all the intimate details but basically the tank of my toilet got cracked. The crack broke the tank into two seperate pieces, I tried caulking it back together but it wouldn't hold water. So now I have completely removed the tank from the bowl. The water is obviously shut off and I need to purchase a new tank. In the mean time, I NEED TO FLUSH what is in the bowl. I know that the bowl flushes with a cyphen effect so here is what I was thinking. If I buy one of those tanks of water, generally used to hook up to drinking water coolers and placed it over the hole leading from my bowl to where the tank once was... allowing the water to rapidly fill the bowl, would this work in flushing the toilet? Or am I missing some key concept that would not allow this method to work properly? Please help!
