Hi, I just bought Sims 2 for my new Toshiba Satellite laptop. It has Windows 7. When I put in the disc (which is compatible and has no scratches on it), the installation menu does not start up. Then I try to start it up manually. But when I do this, an error comes up and it says it cannot find the file C:\windows\system32\autorungui.dll .

So i googled this, and tried to download an autorungui.dll file and save it into system 32 folder. But when I try this, it says I need permission or I am not authorized to modify that folder.

I am all out of ideas, please help!

Hi all, I'm buying a new laptop and I just want to make sure the Sims 2 will work on it, because it's my favorite game. It comes with Windows 7 and I know it wasn't made to work with it, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any trouble playing the game on Windows 7? Thanks!
