Ok my husband was adopted and has recently decided that he'd like to find out about his birthparents and possible family. For the last week I've been going through every online adoption registry I can find but I haven't found a single thing! I know our next step is to file with the adoption reunion registry with Catholic Charities who facilitated his adoption and with his state but I've already looked in so many places and come up with nothing that I'm getting worried. What if they haven't left any information anywhere because they don't want to be found? He is 35 now so there is a chance that they tried looking years ago and have given up but I'm just so worried about this. I've made up all kinds of reasonable excuses why I haven't found anything to my husband because I don't want him to think for one second that they're out there somewhere not even curious or thinking about him but what if this really does backfire? It's taken him so long to even consider finding them I can't imagine that they don't think of him but how should I know what they're thinking? Any other adoptees or birthparents out there who have any thoughts on this or reasons why I can't find any info online at all? Please help.

I am a happily married woman. Prior to my marriage I had a lot of male friends. Now that I'm married it seems like every guy I meet who I feel like I would be good friends with ends up hitting on me and eventually dumps me as a friend once he realizes that I'm never going to have sex with him. Why is it suddenly so hard to just be friends with someone of the opposite sex? Am I just meeting the wrong people or are all men just trying to get it on with a married woman?
